November 11, 200619 yr Guys,I have a problem. When I load a FS2004 flightplan in active radar I do not see the waypoints in the Planning screen and I do not see the flightplan line (when turned on) in the Situation screen. I have the latest Build 536. Did I do something wrong?Regards,Jeroen van SchoneveldVelserbroekThe Netherlandshttp://www.captainsim.com/user/dl/b757/752_users_banner.gif http://sales.hifisim.com/pub-download/asv6-banner-proud.jpgASUS A8N-SLI, AMD Athlon 64 4000+ (2,4 Ghz) San Diego processor, 2Gb DDR 400 Mhz Corsair Mem, ASUS V6800 PCIE Ultra 256 MB video Regards, Jeroen The Netherlands
November 11, 200619 yr Hi,Sorry for the trouble. A few suggestions:Make sure the plan is a true FS plan and not a 3rd party plan. You can re-save a plan in FS to make sure.Try a simple GPS plan and see if it shows up correctly. If not, then do a renstall of AS and choose Repair. Please let us know,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development Team Active Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter: http://www.jdtllc.com/AirSource Member: http://www.air-source.us/FSEconomy Member:http://www.fseconomy.com/
November 12, 200619 yr Author Jim,This is weird!!! I always make my plans in FSNavigator and convert them into FS2004 plans to import them into FS2004. Then I use Active Radar to see the weather around me (importing the FSNavigator plan without re-saving it in FS2004!!). I never had problems with this until ASV6.5. FSNavigator didn't change at my computer.I now have a workaround to re-save the plan into FS2004 when I import it into FS2004 and Active radar, but have there been changes around Active radar recently? I think it's odd that it allways worked well (as mentioned above) and now I have to work around it.Do you have more suggestions what could be wrong here?Regards,Jeroen van SchoneveldVelserbroekThe Netherlandshttp://www.captainsim.com/user/dl/b757/752_users_banner.gif http://sales.hifisim.com/pub-download/asv6-banner-proud.jpgASUS A8N-SLI, AMD Athlon 64 4000+ (2,4 Ghz) San Diego processor, 2Gb DDR 400 Mhz Corsair Mem, ASUS V6800 PCIE Ultra 256 MB video Regards, Jeroen The Netherlands
November 12, 200619 yr Hi,No major changes have been made. It could be that some waypoints from FSNav are not in the AR database and then AR doesn't know what to do. That could be it.Thanks,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development Team Active Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter: http://www.jdtllc.com/AirSource Member: http://www.air-source.us/FSEconomy Member:http://www.fseconomy.com/
November 12, 200619 yr Author Jim,I think that it is not quite the case that the AR database and FSNAV are different. I did the following experiment (I did this with the old AIRAC 0608 (before Richard Stefan went to Navigraph) and with the new AIRAC 0611):1. I made a short flightplan in FSNAV from EHAM to EHRD. 2. First I exported it and tried to load it into AR. In AR the flightplan wasn't shown. 3. Then I loaded the exported FSNAV flightplan in FS2004, re-saved it and then loaded it into AR. The flightplan was shown in AR. Both the original (non FS2004 re-saved) FSNAV flightplan and the re-saved FS2004 flightplan had exactly the same waypoints in it. So I presume it can't be the AR database or the FSNAV database. I think it has to be something that AR suddenly cannot read FSNAV exported plans and it can read it when you re-save it within FS2004. Maybe a "FS2004 format" issue or something? The flightplan was as follows:EHAM RW 36C, EH007, EH004, Fix1 N52'18.97' - E004'50.45', EH036, EH072, LEKKO, INKET, ROT, RR, CD24, EHRD RW24.Regards,Jeroen van SchoneveldVelserbroekThe Netherlandshttp://www.captainsim.com/user/dl/b757/752_users_banner.gif http://sales.hifisim.com/pub-download/asv6-banner-proud.jpgASUS A8N-SLI, AMD Athlon 64 4000+ (2,4 Ghz) San Diego processor, 2Gb DDR 400 Mhz Corsair Mem, ASUS V6800 PCIE Ultra 256 MB video Regards, Jeroen The Netherlands
November 12, 200619 yr Hi,OK, thnaks for that. The only thing I can say is that AR plans should be saved FS plans. I can't explain why the exported FSNav plans have worked all along for you. Maybe Damian knows more about this! Thanks, Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development Team Active Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter: http://www.jdtllc.com/AirSource Member: http://www.air-source.us/FSEconomy Member:http://www.fseconomy.com/
November 13, 200619 yr Author Jim,Thanks for so far and the work-around (the re-saving thing). I hope to hear more from Damian. Maybe he knows what's been changed in reading FSNav FS2004 *.PLN into AR.Regards,Jeroen van SchoneveldVelserbroekThe Netherlandshttp://www.captainsim.com/user/dl/b757/752_users_banner.gif http://sales.hifisim.com/pub-download/asv6-banner-proud.jpgASUS A8N-SLI, AMD Athlon 64 4000+ (2,4 Ghz) San Diego processor, 2Gb DDR 400 Mhz Corsair Mem, ASUS V6800 PCIE Ultra 256 MB video Regards, Jeroen The Netherlands
November 15, 200619 yr Commercial Member Hi,Do you have FSX Installed on this machine? If so, that explains it.. ASv6.5 will no longer autosave native FS9 .pln format if FSX is detected, so the only way to convert to proper format is via FS9 load/save.If no FSX, then I'm not sure what's going on at all, but I can investigate.. let me know!Best, Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation Technologies
November 15, 200619 yr Author Damian,Can you remotely look at my compter? Yes I have FSX installed on it also. So if I remove it, it will return to normal? It is strange that an FSX installment is bugging a FS9 plan format.I will stay for a while with the workaround. Next year I will buy a whole new machine and install FSX on that one. I follow the advise of Ariane's mail today to wait for Vista, DX10 and the FSX-upgrade and then move the whole FSX bunch to the new computer.Thanx Damian and Jim for the help and the quick replies.Regards,Jeroen van SchoneveldVelserbroekThe Netherlandshttp://www.captainsim.com/user/dl/b757/752_users_banner.gif http://sales.hifisim.com/pub-download/asv6-banner-proud.jpgASUS A8N-SLI, AMD Athlon 64 4000+ (2,4 Ghz) San Diego processor, 2Gb DDR 400 Mhz Corsair Mem, ASUS V6800 PCIE Ultra 256 MB video Regards, Jeroen The Netherlands
