Hi, Just curious and wanting to know if someone has experience with this. Is it possible to use FSX panels in FS9 if all gauges, xmls etc. are situated in the panel folder af the aircraft you want to use it? Regards, Jeroen, The Netherlands

Can't start ASV6 after ASA Beta
alexvs replied to alexvs's topic in The AS16 and ASCA | Active Sky | Active Sky Next | XPAX Support ForumJim,I had the same thoughts. How can they interfere? But or I was to fast or something else was wrong. But when I looked at the processes within XP I saw that ASA was "hanging in". After I killed it, ASV6 could be started again. Why ASA was still active after I stopped it the normal way and after no reports of its "hanging" from XP, I don't know. I will report again t this topic when it happens again. But I'm still a little bit disappointed about three things after the BETA:1. Large windshifts (not as smooth as ASV6 in my humble opinion);2. Shifting dark/light clouds (just it is if the sun is shining from behind a cloud for 1 second and than darker again);3. Too many stutters when downloading or updates (with a plan loaded). What can I do. Play with the settings of ASA or are some settings in my FS9.CFG to be altered? Or is a complete re-install of ASA an option?

Can't start ASV6 after ASA Beta
Hi Jim,After I installed ASA Beta and started it to look if all my problems were gone (wind shifts, constant light changing on the clouds (flickering from dark to light as if the sun is appearing and disappearing)) I wanted to step back, closed ASA and wanted to start ASV6 in mid-flight. But ....... no can do. Is there a way to get ASV6 back again or do I have to reboot my machine?Regards,Jeroen

Overland Airbus VC
Hi,Got a question. Maybe some of you recognise this little problem. At daytime in my Overland Airbus VC, the gauges are difficult to read. The text has jagged edges. But at nighttime, when the cabin lights are on (the lightmaps of the plane illuminate automatically on a time when it's dark and officially 'night') then the text in the gauges are very well readeable. How come? For the record, I have the latest drivers of NVidia. And the problem doesn't occur with the Boeing VC's of Overland. ASV6 visibility question
Guys,I got a question about visibilty ASV6 in FS9.1. When I'm taking off in very bad weather, I have visibilty according to this state of weather. But every time I am above Fl 100 the visibility suddenly changes to very clear. Is this normal in real life or do I have to change a setting within ASV? I'm at work now, but I know for sure I have the visibility settings within FS9 set to 30 miles.Regards,Jeroen van SchoneveldVelserbroekThe Netherlandshttp://www.captainsim.com/user/dl/b757/752_users_banner.gif http://sales.hifisim.com/pub-download/asv6-banner-proud.jpgASUS A8N-SLI, AMD Athlon 64 4000+ (2,4 Ghz) San Diego processor, 2Gb DDR 400 Mhz Corsair Mem, ASUS V6800 PCIE Ultra 256 MB video

Corrupt aircraft images
Hi all,Recently I suffer from CTD's from the module FE.DLL. I read alot in this forum and it is supposed to be a problem of corrupt aircraft bmp's.Is there a way to detect corrupt images via a tool? Does anybody know how to search for this kind of files?Regards,Jeroen van SchoneveldVelserbroekThe Netherlandshttp://www.captainsim.com/user/dl/b757/752_users_banner.gif http://sales.hifisim.com/pub-download/asv6-banner-proud.jpgASUS A8N-SLI, AMD Athlon 64 4000+ (2,4 Ghz) San Diego processor, 2Gb DDR 400 Mhz Corsair Mem, ASUS V6800 PCIE Ultra 256 MB video

What is wrong with my FS9?
Jeff,Did you restore some directories lately or so? I have never seen this before. There is a way. Go to explorer, to the main FS9 direcory and do a search to AF2*.BGL. Wait, and sort the outcome at the directory-level. Hopefully the files are split in two different directories. If so you are lucky. If not, you have to delete or rename the double files one by one via SCANAFD (some work but in 1 hour you'll be finished, and it's fun, you have something to do :-)).If the files are split in two directories. Open your scenery.cfg. Search for one of the directories in the scenery.cfg and delete that entry. Close the file and save (make a backup first before you edit!!!!!!). Then you have to re-order the scenery entries. This is not absolutely necessary, but it's better for performance reasons. There is a little program for that. I'm at the office now, so if you want this programm, let me now. I'll send it to you later this evening. If you have no double entries of your AFCAD directories in the scenery.cfg, then simply return to explorer, select one of the double directories and delete that one, or better move it out of the FS9 main directoy, for example a TEMP directory at the root of you harddisk. Hope this works, otherwise leave a message. What is wrong with my FS9?
Jeff,That many. That is nearly impossible. You couldn't fly with that many duplicates.Attached is a picture of SCANAFD. Do the following in order:1. Run SCANAFD2. Choose "Show duplicates" at the left under3. Choose "All scenery addon directories"4. And check "Include disabled sceneries"5. Then scan with the button "Scan files" (wait a while)6. If there are duplicates, highlight one like in the picture "EGPK"7. Then highlight the desired afcad in the column "AFD files"8. Both buttons "Delete" and "Rename" should be black by nowIt is better to rename then to delete. If you rename a pop-up screen will appear and then you can rename the extention of the double file to for example BCK (instead of BGL).If you have more trouble, you can mail me.Regards,Jeroen van SchoneveldVelserbroekThe Netherlandshttp://www.captainsim.com/user/dl/b757/752_users_banner.gif http://sales.hifisim.com/pub-download/asv6-banner-proud.jpgASUS A8N-SLI, AMD Athlon 64 4000+ (2,4 Ghz) San Diego processor, 2Gb DDR 400 Mhz Corsair Mem, ASUS V6800 PCIE Ultra 256 MB videohttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/167329.jpg

What is wrong with my FS9?
Jeff,Did you change/add new traffic lately in the EURO region? I know (by trial on error at my rig) that the Thomas Cook Britain flightplans I downloaded and installed not so long ago, was my CTD problem. Maybe your traffic files are corrupt. You can experiment with this to backup and delte your tarffic files from last month and look if the CTD disappears. Than you can replace the backuped files back to you scenery directoy one-by-one and see wich files makes the CTD come back.If this doesn't help, it certainly will be your AFCAD files. One is corrupt or you have double airports installed (the program SCANAFD helps to trace these ones).Regards,Jeroen van SchoneveldVelserbroekThe Netherlandshttp://www.captainsim.com/user/dl/b757/752_users_banner.gif http://sales.hifisim.com/pub-download/asv6-banner-proud.jpgASUS A8N-SLI, AMD Athlon 64 4000+ (2,4 Ghz) San Diego processor, 2Gb DDR 400 Mhz Corsair Mem, ASUS V6800 PCIE Ultra 256 MB video

Anyone tried aerosofts EAS system yet ?
Gary,Yes. This product is awesome. Top and waited too long for. This add-on sends my FSX back from my harddisk to the CD.I have installed all airports, and especially LOWW and the Spanish Airports are alive with moving tow trucks, speaking ground handlers and moving jetties. If I would be you. Loading flightplan in active radar problem
alexvs replied to alexvs's topic in The AS16 and ASCA | Active Sky | Active Sky Next | XPAX Support ForumDamian,Can you remotely look at my compter? Yes I have FSX installed on it also. So if I remove it, it will return to normal? It is strange that an FSX installment is bugging a FS9 plan format.I will stay for a while with the workaround. Next year I will buy a whole new machine and install FSX on that one. I follow the advise of Ariane's mail today to wait for Vista, DX10 and the FSX-upgrade and then move the whole FSX bunch to the new computer.Thanx Damian and Jim for the help and the quick replies.Regards,Jeroen van SchoneveldVelserbroekThe Netherlandshttp://www.captainsim.com/user/dl/b757/752_users_banner.gif http://sales.hifisim.com/pub-download/asv6-banner-proud.jpgASUS A8N-SLI, AMD Athlon 64 4000+ (2,4 Ghz) San Diego processor, 2Gb DDR 400 Mhz Corsair Mem, ASUS V6800 PCIE Ultra 256 MB video

Loading flightplan in active radar problem
alexvs replied to alexvs's topic in The AS16 and ASCA | Active Sky | Active Sky Next | XPAX Support ForumJim,I think that it is not quite the case that the AR database and FSNAV are different. I did the following experiment (I did this with the old AIRAC 0608 (before Richard Stefan went to Navigraph) and with the new AIRAC 0611):1. I made a short flightplan in FSNAV from EHAM to EHRD. 2. First I exported it and tried to load it into AR. In AR the flightplan wasn't shown. 3. Then I loaded the exported FSNAV flightplan in FS2004, re-saved it and then loaded it into AR. The flightplan was shown in AR. Both the original (non FS2004 re-saved) FSNAV flightplan and the re-saved FS2004 flightplan had exactly the same waypoints in it. So I presume it can't be the AR database or the FSNAV database. I think it has to be something that AR suddenly cannot read FSNAV exported plans and it can read it when you re-save it within FS2004. Maybe a "FS2004 format" issue or something? The flightplan was as follows:EHAM RW 36C, EH007, EH004, Fix1 N52'18.97' - E004'50.45', EH036, EH072, LEKKO, INKET, ROT, RR, CD24, EHRD RW24.Regards,Jeroen van SchoneveldVelserbroekThe Netherlandshttp://www.captainsim.com/user/dl/b757/752_users_banner.gif http://sales.hifisim.com/pub-download/asv6-banner-proud.jpgASUS A8N-SLI, AMD Athlon 64 4000+ (2,4 Ghz) San Diego processor, 2Gb DDR 400 Mhz Corsair Mem, ASUS V6800 PCIE Ultra 256 MB video

Loading flightplan in active radar problem
alexvs replied to alexvs's topic in The AS16 and ASCA | Active Sky | Active Sky Next | XPAX Support ForumJim,This is weird!!! I always make my plans in FSNavigator and convert them into FS2004 plans to import them into FS2004. Then I use Active Radar to see the weather around me (importing the FSNavigator plan without re-saving it in FS2004!!). I never had problems with this until ASV6.5. FSNavigator didn't change at my computer.I now have a workaround to re-save the plan into FS2004 when I import it into FS2004 and Active radar, but have there been changes around Active radar recently? I think it's odd that it allways worked well (as mentioned above) and now I have to work around it.Do you have more suggestions what could be wrong here?Regards,Jeroen van SchoneveldVelserbroekThe Netherlandshttp://www.captainsim.com/user/dl/b757/752_users_banner.gif http://sales.hifisim.com/pub-download/asv6-banner-proud.jpgASUS A8N-SLI, AMD Athlon 64 4000+ (2,4 Ghz) San Diego processor, 2Gb DDR 400 Mhz Corsair Mem, ASUS V6800 PCIE Ultra 256 MB video

What ATC is fixed in FSX?
Brent,None of them all 4. Nothing changed except the ATC interface (clickable with the mousepointer). Very sad.But maybe with the new interface SimConnect the free- or payware desgners will make great add-ons to make ATC en AI better or even perfect. How is ATC in FSX Beta?
James,Ofcourse, FSX will be (in time) a better sim. But only because we, the community, are making it better. Don't get me wrong, thats good, we community people have to have a hobby. All I want to say is that MS is saying "we listen to the community, do a survey, make all things (200%) better and we are taking a huge step forward". That's not the case and not true. According to many threads I have read the last few months there will be no world-shocking changes.I'm not wining about FSX. For me ATC is important, and if its not improved in FSX, than I hope the RC-people will upgrade their product very fast. Ofcourse I will buy FSX (I have no choice), but I will be disappointed in the project if only the the ATC interface is changed.Regards,Jeroen van SchoneveldVelserbroekThe Netherlandshttp://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/800driver.jpghttp://sales.hifisim.com/pub-download/asv6-banner-proud.jpgASUS A8N-SLI, AMD Athlon 64 4000+ (2,4 Ghz) San Diego processor, 2Gb DDR 400 Mhz Corsair Mem, ASUS V6800 PCIE Ultra 256 MB video
