June 14, 200718 yr Moderator When I first start ASX it takes a little under a minute to get ready. Then I start FSX - when I get the flight loaded I get the message to wait while ASX sets up. It takes about 6 minutes before I get the OK message. Is this about normal? I have a 6K DSL line and my system is a P4 3.4/2GDDR/GF 7600/512.Thanx,VicVisit the Virtual Pilot's Centerwww.flightadventures.comhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Proud SupporterRadar Contact Supporter: http://www.jdtllc.com/ RIG#1 - I9 14900K MSI Pro z790 RTX 5070Ti 40" 4K Monitor 3840x2160
June 14, 200718 yr Hi Vic,That looks to be about right. It is not the download, but the processing of all the data once ASX knows your current location in FSX. On the first startup, data is only downloaded and saved.Thanks,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/banners/hifi-community-sigbanner.jpghttp://www.hifisim.com/
June 15, 200718 yr In Active Sky 6 there's an option under "Startup and General": Start Paused (Refresh to Start).I can't find that one in ASX, and that's a bit annoying. I never fly realtime (if I did I'd do nothing but night flying), and I move around a lot, so ASX is almost always in the wrong place at the wrong time at startup!I would love to have the Start Paused option in ASX too ...Eagle
June 15, 200718 yr Author Moderator Thanx Jim - that's what I thought but I always like to double check. So far so good with ASX/XG! Still waiting for prices to come down before I build a new system. Probably want to see what DX10 does before committing though.VicVisit the Virtual Pilot's Centerwww.flightadventures.comhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Proud SupporterRadar Contact Supporter: http://www.jdtllc.com/ RIG#1 - I9 14900K MSI Pro z790 RTX 5070Ti 40" 4K Monitor 3840x2160
