Visibility Settings

Featured Replies

Greetings:Before I acquired AS6, in FS Weather I set the upper visibility setting to 40,000' and 30 miles which gave me a nice hazy horizon seeing that I never exceeded 40,000 in normal flight, I had light haze all the time, which is what I desired.Following the suggestions for AS6 settings in FS, I selected "default settings" in FSUIPC. I also reconfigured the AS6 settings as laid out by Jim Skorna in the post, "Realistic Weather Settings".In checking back to the FS default visibility settings which I had set to 40,000', it was now at 15,000' as set by AS6, and when passing through 15,000', I lost the haze. The horizon was sharply defined and didn't look natural. As an experiment, starting out at 1012'ASL (airport ground level), I slewed upward towards 15,000' and watched AS6 go through 3 visibility changes. The AS6 weather server gave me a clear day to start, no clouds, as this was the actual weather at the airport. My question: Is there a setting in the "Options" box that will give me some haze on the horizon (already using Soft Horizons) after I pass through 15,000', when using AS6?ThxChris

Hi...Using the ASv6 options, disable the FS9 haze layer and set your maximum upper visibility to around 29SM (your preference). This will result in visibility gradually clearing as you climb up to the maximum where it will stay regardless of altitude. If you're using the FS9 haze layer it will always go to maximum (per FS options) when you climb above the vis layer, as you experience describes.Best,
