Simconnect version

Featured Replies

Hello,I'm trying to run Active Sky X on a networked computer and all seems to be set up correctly. The Simconnect is connecting correctly (according to the AITraffic util). When I launck ASX i get the following message:"Simconnect SP1 managed version was not found to be correctly installed on this system..."The version installed is the Client version v10.0.61259.0 that comes with the latest SDK in Accelaration DVD. Can you please help me? What should I do?RegardsAbrupto

Hello,The solution is to try a repair followed by a re-installation of Acceleration. Alternatively, you can run the simconnect.msi file if you have the deluxe version (found after you install the SP1 SDK, useful to save this .msi for future use). There is more information available in the documentation (troubleshooting simconnect). Does this help?Best,

Hi,If this is a windows XP installation then yes, a repair (or reinstall if repair unable) of Acceleration may solve the problem. On XP, .NET is not included and FSX/Acceleration does not install .NET required components for SimConnect for some reason, and ASX will not be able to find it. After ASX (and .NET 2.0) is installed doing repair or reinstall can sometimes solve the problem and FSX will properly install the .NET simconnect files. On any OS, FSX and a direct upgrade to SP2 (Acceleration) also occasionally fails to install SP1 simconnect. ASX uses SP1 simconnect for dual compatibility with SP1 and SP2. Acceleration DOES properly install SP1 in many cases. In many other cases it does not.If you have FSX Deluxe version what I would recommend is: Uninstall Acceleration, Install the FSX SDK from CD, update the FSX SDK to SP1A (www.fsinsider.com), then use that simconnect.MSI file in the SDK installation folder to install the proper SP1 simconnect version on whatever computer is running ASX. Save that simconnect.MSI file as it may be helpful in the future any time you need simconnect SP1 on any machine... Then finally update FSX to SP2/Acceleration.We apologize for the inconvenience here, however, ACES/MS don't allow redistribution of the simconnect.MSI for SP1 (which would eliminate a lot of problems), and decided not to fix the installer issues related to SP1 simconnect and simconnect with .NET, so this remains problematic for a good portion of users.. not just with ASX but several other add-ons too. As soon as SimConnect SP1 is properly installed on the ASX machine it will operate normally, so please try these steps and let us know if you get it working ok.BTW, the SimConnect Troubleshooting chapter in the manual explains these steps in detail.Best,

Tanks for your help. It's done and running. But now I have another question. How can I launch ASX remotely from the computer where I have FSX installed? I've tried to do that but get an error message from .Net Framework about security. Can you help also in this one?RegardsAbrupto
