ActiveSkyX Locks Up

Featured Replies

Hello,I continue to have difficulties with ActiveSky on my new system. I load ActiveskyX normally. However, once I click on WX Config, ASX stops responding. It never recovers. I am running ASX on the same computer that FSX is running on.System Specs:Windows Vista 64bit, 2.4ghz dual core, 4gb ram, GTX9800 w/512 memory. The problem also appears when I try to load a flight plan. It takes an extremely long time to load (if it loads without an error). I also downloaded and installed file ASX-Update-B1161. No change in behavior. Here is the Xengine log file.11:53:02: Logging Initialized11:53:02: XEngine v1.0.0.332 Copyright

Hi,Suggestions:Run ASX on the second core.Try with high priority process both On and Off and see if either way makes a difference. What type of plan? A plan generated with FSX or or other software?Right mouse click on the ASX icon and run As Administrator.Thanks!Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/banners/hifi-community-sigbanner.jpghttp://www.hifisim.com/

Hi Jim,Item 1: When I am starting up ASX, it is the only thing running. No FSX and I have hardly anything else running on the computer. I will try to attach ASX to a second core.Item 2: I have changed the high priority processes as suggested. No change.Item 3: I am using a plan downloaded from Simroutes. To make sure, I will even generate the plan myself. Fairly simple one KDFW DALL8 SWB HRV Q105 REDFN Q100 SRQ DEEDS1 KMIAItem 4: I am right clicking and running as admin. No change. Thanks for your help Jim.Eric

Hi. Just curious as to how to set ASX affinity to the second core. Tried this and I got an "Access denied" pop up. Running Vista 64.

Jim,I have now assigned ASX to the 2nd core of my machine. No change whatsoever. It is still as slow as before.Eric

I also downloaded and installed file>ASX-Update-B1161. No change in behavior. What!! Where is this ASX Update B1161 to be found then and what is it for or is that just a typo? I thought the latest ASX Build was B1160.
