February 19, 200323 yr Ok, serious stuff. Uploaded my order early this morning (California time). Got a reply email confirmation. Waiting for one big beautiful CD. Setting up the lawn chair in the middle of the driveway near the mailbox. UPS? US Mail? Pony Express? No matter.Frenchy -- out.
February 19, 200323 yr Commercial Member Pete and the volunteers at MAAM mail out the orders the same day, or if received after museum hours, the next day. After that, it's all up to the U.S. (and foreign) Postal Service. We have had many compliments on the speed of delivery, and almost zero complaints during the three year life of the R4D CD's.Now, this time there is a little wrinkle in the otherwise smooth fabric. You see, release day was not supposed to be here until Friday the 21st! It will still be the official release. But, when the order link went up at MAAM, the cat was out of the bag. I shipped an initial batch up on Thursday that Pete got this morning. Pete tells me he is already out of Multi-Media CD's (that's the supplemental one with extra goodies on it, and all the FS CD's will be gone tomorrow.I have another 200 all burned and labeled here in my office at Andrews AFB, but no jewel cases and a few million tons of snow between me and a software outlet. :-zhelp The plows are clearing the lot now, and I will finally be able to get my motorhome out of here tomorrow for the first time since last Thursday. That's a full week! I'm hoping my dogs will recognize me when I finally get home ;-) I promise to get the cases and overnight the next shipment to Pete on Friday morning. Then I need to burn CD's like crazy to keep up! Not complaining, mind you. We are tickled to death by the response, but I just want you to know there may be a little delay, no more than a day or two extra, in the normal flow.To ease your pain, I will be uploading a reduced feature Trial Version of 'Briefing Time' tonight - if this pitiful dial-up connection will allow. A few million snowbound D.C. metro area web-surfers with cabin fever puts a heck of a strain on the old server! Next to my wife and dogs, I miss my DSL the most. ;-)So, keep an eye out for "bt_trial.zip" tomorrow at the latest. It's a 20MB dl, but worth it. It is time-unlimited, but the gorgeous VC and the symphony of the Wright Double Cyclones are two of those features not present. Do check out the sample wav files in the sound folder, though. Turn up the speakers full blast and you will achieve about a quarter of the true volume of the real thing - maybe. :-hahCheck out the readme for all the info, please.Bill Rambow MAAM-SIMhttp://www.fssupport.com/maam_sim/maamsim_logo.gif Bill Rambow MAAM-SIM www.maam.org
