Thanks a lot for this great package and a worthy cause to spend money on.Best Regards, Uwe

I agree 100%. I love this plane and can't stop flying it. Flies like the specs and the a/c sounds great, the only thing is at cruise with power at 33 and prop at 1900 or 2000 every 10 sec or so there is a popping sound in the sound files inside the cockpit. Maybe you guys could adjust this to get rid of this later. Also have a question of what the knocking sound when it is idling from. Is it the rods or something, or the exhaust. Thanks so much and anyone who doesn't have it yet order the CD. the videos that come along with it are absolutely amazing.ADAM.

Glad you like it! :-smile12That popping sound you hear is the distinctive sound of the short-stack equipped Wright Double-Cyclones. 'Briefing Time' is one of very few remaining B-25's that have the war-time configuration short stacks. http://www.fssupport.com/maam_sim/eng_unc.jpgAbove you can see eight of the stacks. I mean they are SHORT!Because of the tremendous noise the engines produced, a post-war modification gathered the upper exhaust ports into a collector ring, making it much quieter. The lowers could not be treated this way because of all the oil that would have collected in the ring from those cylinders. 'BT's stacks were restored, like almost everything else in her, to her original factory condition... http://www.fssupport.com/maam_sim/engine.jpgNext time you see another "restored" B-25, look for that single large exhaust stack exiting the outboard side of the engine. If you see it, the restoration is not complete, regardless of how pretty it looks. http://www.fssupport.com/maam_sim/eng_mod.jpg If you have the CD version, take a look at the "runup.mpg" for a staged, idle to full power run-up that Russ performed for me to capture the exterior sounds. The flash of the exhaust at dusk is amazing! Bill Rambow MAAM-SIM - Rambow, Visser, Banting, and Younghttp://www.fssupport.com/maam_sim/maamsim_logo.gif

Bill,A suggestion on the first or future upgrades. It would be amazing if you could get the exhaust flash to show, especially for night flying.Albeit, most of our pilots would fly primarily by day and miss this effect, but it is quite unique to this design.Don

Jan and I actually discussed this a lot. The problem was, it did not seem possible to simulate the actual, distinctive firing sequence of BT's engines. Simulating the short stacks flashing in the proper pattern, all the way around the cowling, is a lot harder than a single or pair of stacks that pulse in regular flashes, as we have seen on other models. The other problem with this effect is that the real flashes are not visible in daylight. You can see that in any of the daytime videos, and also how the flames grow brighter appearing as dusk advances during the run-up. Fake looking flames in daytime would be worse than none at night, in our opinion. But if we, or someone else, figures out how to solve these problems, and make it look real, we would be eager to add it.
