2003 Airshow Season for BT

Featured Replies

Bill,I was just wondering if/when MAAM was going to publish the 2003 season for BT (or even if such a thing exists). I know about the show at Toughkenamon PA on June 1 and the MAAM WW2 Weekend on June 6,7 and 8. Will BT be doing other shows? The main reason I ask is because I am planning on simming BT on a national tour this year to celebrate the Centennial of Flight and I'm trying to put together an itenerary. I hope to physically fly BT on the tour etc. At the moment, I am considering using one of the Collings Foundation's past Wings of Freedom tours (B-17 and B-24) if I can't find one for our BT. The link I am looking at is: http://www.collingsfoundation.org/cf_schedules.htmThe 2001 tour even went up to Alaska. It looks like a great way to "see" America in BT! :-)Thanks again for this incredible airplane. She is a sweetheart!Chip

Hi Chip,I got right on the horn and called the boss, and Russ said, "Be patient." That's because the whole schedule has not yet been worked out. But I promise to let you know, here, when it is.Speaking of air shows, here's an update on an idea that originated here on the forum. Russ and I are working on the BT Air Show Packages, and in fact, I just finished the final diagram of the clover-leaf fly-over that Russ drew for me by hand. This is used for both the fly-over of the Liberty Ship U.S.S. Brown, as well as the "Liberation of Reading" fly-over during World War II Weekend. These are just two of the four air show packages we have planned which will include maps, diagrams, briefings, satellite photos, as well as the starting flight, itself. Javier Fernandez, the author of the carrier John C. Stennis used in the Doolittle Re-enactment flight, is producing a model of the Brown especially for this project. We think these are going to be a lot of fun.:-yellow1Bill Rambow MAAM-SIM - Rambow, Visser, Banting, and Younghttp://www.fssupport.com/maam_sim/maamsim_logo.gif

Thanks Bill! I'll be looking forward to the whole shebang!Chip

Wow Bill ! You guys go all out on everything!!! When I suggested the air show thing, I thought maybe something along the lines of...fly by, 200 kts, bomb bay doors open, left turn,etc...I can't wait to download the airshow packages and the USS Brown ! Sounds like this is going to be an awesome addon to make flying BT even better :)Darrell

Bill,Time to bring this subject up again. MAAM's website still shows 2001 Airshow announcement!Have ya been able to nail Russ and the crew down on some kind of a show schedule. I think some of us out here (especially in the Mid-west) would like to know if we'll get a chance to see Briefing Time or the R4D somewhere out here this year. Can you say "Oshkosh"?Thanks,Don
