Can upper cockpit glass colour be changed?

Featured Replies

I was wondering if there was any way to change the virtual upper cockpit glass colour from green to clear. I know there is good reason in the real BT to have it for glare protection, but I would prefer it to be clear if possible. I am really enjoying this plane though, regardless of what colour the glass is!

Hi Boris, sorry for the late reply..I'm afraid you cannot change the green color of the upper canopy glass in the VC other then via a hex editor as the color is set within the mdl file. Not so with the same glass part for the external model, that's a texture, because it needs an alpha channel to implement reflection which the internal glass part doesn't need.So unless you know your P's&Q's about hex editing an mdl file i'm afraid you're stuck with the green tinted glass. I might do away with the green tint when i get a chance to produce a B-25B model. Might prove tricky though because both with the 2D panel and VC there are many 'hints of green' reflecting in various items of the cockpit.(yokes and lever knobs to name some) best regards,Jan

Thanks for the reply Jan. I know that you guys are very busy, and I appreciate you taking the time out to answer.Like I said earlier, even though I would prefer a clear cockpit, I can get used to the green. It is such an awesome well done plane in all aspects, and a dream to fly!
