2nd CD Not Working

Featured Replies

I had a problem with not being able to see any of the files on the first R4D CD that I received. Bill got right on it and immediately sent me a replacement. However, I'm having some new problems with the 2nd CD. I can see all the files and the R4D installer (R4DC3FS9.EXE) and the "read_1st.txt" are fine. But the files in the PTM and Manual subfolders are visible but not accessible. I've never had this type of problem with CDs in the past. I even tried it on my neighbor's computer with the same results. It's great to have the R4D flying but I have are a lot of question that the manual and PTM would probably help with. Do I need a 3rd disk or is there another solution? Thanks.System: Dell XPS, P-IV 3.0 GHz w/ HT, 1.5 GB RAM, ATI 9800 ProCharlie Felix

HelloI also had problem with a CD from MAAM. It was with the B-25 Mitchell.I tried it at work. There the installation started as it should. I burned a copy of the CD and tried at home. From this copy I could install the plane. If you find a PC where the CD works. Try this! I hope it works for you!:)

I've now tried this CD on five different machines with various OSs and different CD drive manufacturers. Still no luck. The machines all lock-up whenever I try to read the PTM or the Manual.Charlie

Hi Charlie,Boy, talk about snake bit! Sorry. I'm sending you another CD right now. Just looked at the manual and PTM on two computers, one a very low spec one, and they are fine so let's hope that's and end to it.Bill Rambow MAAM-SIM - Rambow, Visser, Banting, Young, Womack, and Sodjahttp://www.fssupport.com/maam_sim/maamsim_logo.gif

Hi,I just wanted to thank Bill for sending out another CD. Third time was the charm and it's great to be able to use the Manual and PTM. This should avoid a lot of stupid "RTFM" questions. I still have the other two bad disks and if you'd like to do a "post-mortem", let me know and I'll put them in the mail. Thanks again.Charlie
