No Bleed Air
I'm having a strange problem with the -200. When I start the engines using APU bleed air the packs go off, the engines start fine, and the hydraulics and electrical systems power-up as expected. The problem is that there is no bleed air from the engines. The two bleed air switches stay lit. Eventually the packs come back on but if I look at the "Air" status display I can see that they are being powered by the APU rather than the engines. The display shows no green path from the engines. If I turn off the APU, the packs go off and the duct pressure drops to zero. Also, the engines do not respond to the throttles. If I move the throttles the engine display shows that they have moved but power does not increase. I have all failures disabled. Any ideas? Thanks

Flightsimcon 2015 Updates?
I live in California and I hope that PMDG will consider an additional sim location on the west coast. BTW - I was at FlightSimCom and on my way back to the Hotel on Saturday afternoon I drove by Signature Flight Support and couldn't help but notice the Captain's beautiful Pan Am DC3. If he'd throw in a free ride on that baby I'd gladly come out to Virginia and try out the simulator. My wife also suggested that it would be a great if the Captain considered having a drawing (maybe $10 - $20 per chance?) for a few rides and gave the proceeds to an aviation related charity (e.g., Flying Doctors) in memory of Tom Allensworth.

FlightSimCon ?
Will PMDG be at FlightSimCon in June? It's great to see that someone is holding a conference that has formal presentations and technical round-tables again. Hearing from the Captain and the team would make it even better.

magdec 2005
Take a look at the pinned topic on the "PMDG General Forum" titled "Magnetic variation updates for FS9 and FSX!". It has links to the 2010 & 2014 files but I'm not sure about the 2005 version.

PMDG Ops Center
FYI - After updating to the newest Ops Ctr. version, I started getting a notice about a missing livery. I tracked it down to my 737-700 Winglet California_One livery which appeared to be installed correctly. It seems that the new Ops Ctr. may no longer be able to handle livery files that contain an underline character. I change the livery file name and the reference in the aircraft.cfg file to California1 and I no longer get the notice.

Road Mapping the Future
Any thoughts of adding a premium service with annual fees? I don't mind paying for FlightSim.com's "first class" and I'm sure that many of us regular Avsim users wouldn't mind helping to create a predictable revenue stream that could be used for system improvements. Donations are great but unfortunately you can't count on them being there when you need them. Charlie

Just started testing NGX w/ Active Sky Next!
The only thing that bothers me about ASN (and other AS products) is that you can't get temperatures displayed in Fahrenheit. It's not hard to convert but it would be nice to have the option.

Moving PMDG Forum
Let me start by saying that I really appreciate all that Tom and his staff at AVISM have done to support and advance flight simulation. We would not be where we are today without their hard work and dedication. Keeping that in mind, I would ask that PMDG staff consider either moving their forum or host it themselves. I have spent a good deal of time looking at the "waiting for forum.avsim.net " status message and all to often ending up with the wonderful "Service Unavailable" screen. I have seen a lot of posts about this problem on their forum and AVISIM's typical answer is that they were probably just doing some work on the site. But this has not been a occasional situation. Of the larger websites that I frequent, Avsim is always the slowest to load and navigate. I know that hosting and administering an extensive site like AVSIM.net is a huge responsibility and often a frustrating endeavor. I again thank Tom and his team for their hard work and perseverance. However I'm afraid that the site's poor performance might eventually reflect badly on PMDG. PS. I hit a "Service Unavailable" screen while trying to post this.

FSX T7 Freeze
I had this problem and it is not a CTD. FSX just freezes. I worked with PMDG support and the only thing that helped was to remove the throttle processing from FSUIPC and handle it through FSX.

Passenger weight
If you're just using PFPX, remember that to get it to match PMDG weights you have to modify the default "Weights" settings. There is only one set of weights so you have to modify it whenever you change from 737 to 777. They have an item on their to-do list to create multiple weight profiles.

777 freezing
Almost all of my lockups have happened between engaging TOGA and reaching Vref (typically at about 80 kts). Does anyone else have failures at this point?

777 freezing
I sent a support request regarding this issue to PMDG and got back an email saying it was probably a VAS problem and made the standard recommendations (reduce scenery, reduce autogen, etc). I ran Process Explorer (PE) during a session that locked-up permanently and PE showed my virtual size for FSX at 3.176 GB. It would seem that in this case VMS may not have been the issue. It's really frustrating to never know when or why an FSX session with the 777 is going to fail.

Passenger weight
I believe that it is 175 lbs for the NGX and 195 lbs for the 777.

Dynamic Head Movement
Rigoberto, Have you triedmaking a change in the "[DynamicHeadMovement]" section of your FSX.cfg file? I found that it helped quite a bit. Make the following change: HeadMoveTimeConstant=0.000000 Hope this helps.

777 Freezing Help
I am also having freezing problems with my 777. This same scenario has happened several times. I am parked at KLAS (FSD) and after pushback and startup I have a long taxi to 25R. I wait for the runway to clear and lineup when the tower clears me for takeoff. I start my roll and a few seconds after I engage TOGA FSX justs locks-up permanently. The only way out is CTL-ALT-DEL and start the task manager to shutdown FSX which is shown as "Not Responding". Any ideas?

737-900 Weights for PFPX
Look for "Topcat+PFPX+737NGX / Weights (How To)" in this forum. It has the data for all NGX types. It's in topcat format but the info for PFPX is there.

Newbie / 2 Throttles & 4 Engines
I took a look at XPUIPC but it seems to be aimed at providing data required by FS add-ons in X-Plane. I could not find the axis assignment and calibration functions that are in FSUIPC. If it does have this function, could someone tell me how to access it? Thanks

Newbie / 2 Throttles & 4 Engines
Sorry if this has been asked before but I did a few searches and couldn't find an answer. If I have a 4-engine aircraft and only 2 throttles levers, how do I assign engines 1&2 to one and engines 3&4 to the other. I know that I can assign all 4 engines to one lever but I'd like to have separate control of the right and left power. Thanks.

operation center/where do I get this ? how ?
If you press your "Start" button and look through"All Programs" you should see a PMDG folder. If you click on that folder one of the options should be a folder containing a link for the PMDG Operations Center executable.

Virtual CDU - available again soon?
OmniAtlas - I had that problem and found that I had not entered the following into the Options.ini file: [sDK] EnableDataBroadcast=1 Hope this helps.

PFPX Weight Data
In another post Al Jordan listed all of the data necessary to create aircraft TopCat templates for all PMDG 737 types. For those of us with only PFPX this contains a lot more info than we need. I've stripped out just the weight data needed for PFPX and created the attached PDF document that I thought might be helpful for creating your own PFPX aircraft templates. Again, thanks to Al for his work in pulling all of this information together.

PFPX Weights
Look for a post in this forum titled "TopCat + PFPX + 737NGX / Weights (How To)". The first post has a listing for all 737 types. They are in TopCat format but you can see all of the weights you need for PFPX.
