Virtual CDU - available again soon?

Featured Replies

As someone who bought the Virtual CDU app from iTunes and following the development re SDK / EULA of PMDG I just checked the website of the developer and am pleased to see this posted:

Hello, we are restructuring our download and distribution system, the app Virtual CDU is temporarily unavailable for purchase. If you wish to be notified when available please send an e-mail to [email protected] with the subject "Want to buy Virtual CDU" and you will receive an e-mail automatically when the app is back to stores. Sorry for the inconvenience, thank you !

Looks like they are sorting out issues. Very good news!

hope so very much. you may want to ask the developer. they more demand the more likely it may be offered - once they figured EULA/SDK things out

I had emailed them last week (before the app went offline) and they said they hoped to do the 777 but would be dependant on the availability of the SDK.

Yep great tool, just flown across the states using it. Probably best app I have on iPhone and for fsx! It works beautifully, no errors, and adds so much to flying the NGX. Hopefully their is an sdk for the 777 and its also better than the NGX which is still lacking compared to ones like the level d had 10 years ago?

Hopefully sp2 for NGX will address this and well see some more clever apps coming out.

I hope that pmdg and virtual cdu can find an agreement, also for the 777, because this guy had done a miracle, for me the app of the year in flight simulation and now I can't do without it anymore

Would be nice if they made one for Android...

Just saying for all of us who -don't- have devices with a chewed Apple on the back...

Gents-

To quell any rumors from getting out of hand here:

These guys did reach out to us- and we have been so busy with the 777 that we did not realize they had taken their product offline when they realized that the violated the terms of our EULA.

That was smart (because legally they could be held financially responsible as we have done to a few others) but more importantly was respectful- and that is a big deal to us because it shows they give a damn about the community AND they understand that we have rights that should be preserved too.  (You would be amazed how often we see behavior that goes the other way.  <cough>)

Now that I don't have 4,000,000 lines of code to worry about- one of my top priorities is to get this little "situation" resolved so that they can get back in the air as well...

For anyone who has been inconvenienced by this little hiccup- I apologize.  These guys are doing the right thing- and the timing was bad because I have been largely ignoring anything unrelated to the 777....

Stay tuned.

PLEASE NOTE THAT PMDG HAS DEPARTED AVSIM

You can find us at:  http://forum.pmdg.com

Just want to say thanks, even if I don't use the product. This attitude is a great part what I believe makes you THE brand in desktop simulation.

- and that is a big deal to us because it shows they give a damn about the community AND they understand that we have rights that should be preserved too. (You would be amazed how often we see behavior that goes the other way. )

I used to be the unintentionally oblivious kid wondering why the heel some devs did what they did.

Then I released some products and it clicked.

Yeah, I get you. Stay assured there are more of us out there. I know you like to feel that.

Now that I don't have 4,000,000 lines of code to worry about-

That might seem like an unrelated tidbit to some, but is a very interesting information to me personally. :-) That is a lot of line to crawl through.
