April 19, 200719 yr Hi,Is there any way to disable the co-pilot's voice in the R4D's and DC-3's ? There's nothing wrong with the voice used; it's just that I like to use FDC Live Cockpit, and I'm afraid there would be a conflict? Thanks
April 19, 200719 yr No, Murfman. It's only the gear action on which he comments (typical FO, asleep half the time) so perhaps you might just disable that particular commentary in FDC LC? Dunno, don't use that personally.I'm glad you said that there was nothing wrong with the voice used. You may live to see another day. That is none other than our very own cool, calm and collected Fred Banting, whose gauge you are using at the time when you hear his Canadian charm.MarkMark "Dark Moment" BeaumontVP Fleet, DC-3 AirwaysTeam Member, MAAM-SIM[a href=http://www.swiremariners.com/cx.html" target="_blank]http://www.paxship.com/avsimlogo.jpg[/a] _________________________ Mark "Dark Moment" Beaumont VP Fleet, DC-3 Airways Team Member, MAAM-SIM
April 20, 200719 yr Author Thanks,Mark, for replying; I can easily disable that one checklist call,"gear up (or down)," in FDC LC, although my FO's sudden and temporary change from a Texas drawl will sound a little strange. My hope is that in the future, should my MAAM SIM FO decide to wake up and start calling out more checklist items, it will be possible to disable him.By the way, I am really enjoying this bird, especially since the VC upgrade! Can't wait for further refinements to the VC! My heatfelt thanks to the team for creating such a wonderful rendition of the plane I first rode in when I was 4 years old!Tom "murfman" Murphy
April 24, 200719 yr If you are using the FSX versions of either the B25 or the R4D any of the gauge sounds can be "silenced". This example will use the gear down callout.1) Navigate to the FSXSoundMAAM_Sim folder where you will find all the *.wav files for the gauge sounds.2) Select the offending file "gear_d.wav" and rename it "gear_d.wav.bak" for safe keeping3) Create a copy (Ctrl C, CtrlV) of "silence.wav"4) Rename "Copy of silence.wav" as gear_d.wavNo more gear down callout.Fred
April 26, 200719 yr Author Fred,Thanks much for your reply. I'll try your advice when I start using the R4D with FSX. I'm waiting, along with a few million others, to see how much SP1 affects my FSX performance.I assume from your remarks that the method you describe doesn't work with FS9.Tom
April 27, 200719 yr Your asumption is correct Tom, FSX only. The sounds are hardcoded into the FS9 gauges with no way for users to change them.Fred
