May 27, 200719 yr How do you start "Cold & Dark" as each time I select one of the DC3 it has every thing running. Is there a configuration utility similar to the Feelthere one? Finally how do you open cargo doors in FSX?Many Thanks for any help
June 4, 200719 yr Hi CliveSorry for the slow response, we've all been travelling... MAAM show and all that.Cold and dark: you can configure any situation you like by saving the flight yourself. In other words, go to your favourite or home airport, taxi to your hangar or whatever, shut down and save the flight. Then you can call it up next time and everything will be as you left it.Feelthere configuration: I'm not familiar with that (nobody around here flies jets :) ) but I presume it's a loader or equivalent. Answer if so is no, we haven't done that with our aircraft, although fuel and payload is eminently configurable from the FS 'Aircraft' menu.Cargo doors: same as FS9. SHIFT/E and SHIFT/E/2.Hope this helps.MarkMark "Dark Moment" BeaumontVP Fleet, DC-3 AirwaysTeam Member, MAAM-SIM[a href=http://www.swiremariners.com/cx.html" target="_blank]http://www.paxship.com/avsimlogo.jpg[/a] _________________________ Mark "Dark Moment" Beaumont VP Fleet, DC-3 Airways Team Member, MAAM-SIM
June 5, 200719 yr How did you manage to get it to run in FSX at all? I thought it was for FS9 only? Dave Taylor
June 5, 200719 yr Commercial Member Hi Dave,You really have to get out more! You have been spending too much time in that cockpit! The FSX Basic Compatibility Updates for both our planes have been available for some time. Take a look over at our Free Stuff Page http://www.maam.org/flightsim/enhance/enhance.htmPrepare to be dazzled by all the goodies. You'll find the FSX patches up top on both pages. Please follow the patch directions, though, or you will go astray.Bill RambowMAAM-SIM http://www.fssupport.com/maam/hgrsm_blkani.gif Bill Rambow MAAM-SIM www.maam.org
June 5, 200719 yr Hi MarkThanks for the reply. I am still having trouble with the doors! I have tried, I think, all combinations of Shift/E/2 and the main exit opens fine in response to the Shift/E but adding the 2 leaves the main exit open and brings up the apprpriate (Shift/2) cockpit display. Have I got this sequence all wrong or is this something to do with FSX?Many thanksClive

I too bring up the IFR panel in error sometimes. But SHIFT/E, closely followed by 2, should do the trick. Think Fred Astaire :)MarkMark "Dark Moment" BeaumontVP Fleet, DC-3 AirwaysTeam Member, MAAM-SIM[a href=http://www.swiremariners.com/cx.html" target="_blank]http://www.paxship.com/avsimlogo.jpg[/a] _________________________ Mark "Dark Moment" Beaumont VP Fleet, DC-3 Airways Team Member, MAAM-SIM
June 5, 200719 yr Thanks Bill.I've even changed my splashscreen to one of Mark's fine shots ;-) Dave Taylor
June 5, 200719 yr Hi againThanks for the reply. I have finally got it sorted!! Keys 1, 2, 3 & 4 seem to be sub-menu keys. I never realised this. So once I have selected Shift/E keys 1 thru 4 (1 & 2 in this case) select the sub-function (doors). Having selected Shift/E I can now open and shut doors at will just using the 1 & 2 keys at any time until a new function is selected. Sorry for using your time like this but FSX is my first Microsoft sim and the keyboard info is in short supply. Many thanksClive
