Clickable DC-3 Virtual cockpit

Featured Replies

I just bought the MAAM DC-3 & C-47. I am very happy with the product. However, if I understood the manual correctly, I should be able to use the mouse to change throuttle, mixture, flaps settings in the virtual cockpit. Now, I can only use the autopilot from the VC using a mouse. A search of MAAM free stuff provided an updated cockpit for the C-47, where many more things are "clickable" than the DC-3 passenger model. Is there an updated DC-3 passenger VC model out there that I am missing, where more things are mouse clickable?I must confess, for me, flying a beautiful aircraft as the MAAM DC-3 is most enjoyable from the virtual cockpit, without popup windows.Thank you,SD

Hi Sid,Well, you did not need to look around the Free Stuff pages for that - the increased function VC is included in the six "All Theaters" C-47s in your recent purchase.Rather than go back and re-engineer the old civilian models' VCs, which would take more work than you imagine, we will be creating a new DC-3 package for FSX this summer and the VCs will be fully functional on all models.I doubt that we will go back and do this work on the FS9 models at this point.Bill RambowMAAM-SIM http://www.fssupport.com/maam/hgrsm_blkani.gif

Thank you for your reply.I was wondering if it were possible for me to alias the C-47 VC (which is mouse clickable) in FS 2004 for the MAAm DC-3 passenger models? If it is, would you please give some instructions on how to do this? I have tried Aliasing the panels in the same manner as sound could be aliased, but it did'nt work; perhaps, I did it incorrectly...I am not sure. Thanks,SD

Oh Sid, if only it was that easy! The improved functionality VC from the C-47s of the All Theaters Pack is part of the physical model of these planes and not something that can be aliased. It would be analogous to aliasing the floats of the XC-47 to the R4D. Can't be done. I'm afraid you will have to wait for the FSX DC-3 package that we will begin work on this Spring to have full-function VC controls in the civilian models.Bill RambowMAAM-SIM http://www.fssupport.com/maam/hgrsm_blkani.gif
