September 3, 200817 yr On August 31st, I purchased the Download Version of the MAAM DC-3/C-47, but never received an email confirmation, nor the promised download link!I've sent two emails to the Contact MAAM link on their homepage, but have received no response. I've also sent an email to the "Webmaster" of the MAAM site, but again, no response!I am not a happy camper at this point! Does anyone in this forum have any useful advice? Thanks very much.Jaeger1952
September 4, 200817 yr I would give them a few more days to respond. From the date you posted, it looks like you caught the fellas getting ready to head out on a long Labor Day holiday. I would venture a guess that you will hear from them before the week end.Jesse
September 4, 200817 yr Commercial Member I did receive all those e-mails and responded to every one. The problem started because Jaeger's ISP, Comcast, is one that blocks maam.org as a spammer -which we are not! It blocks the auto-mails sent by our store software, including the link messages, and everything else. Comcast refuses to take us off this black-list unless we pay them a fee! Blackmail!I run the on-line store as a volunteer, so when this happens I routinely receive a failure notice from the store software. When I see this, I immediately use my own personal e-mail account and ISP, Verizon, to hand-send the download link. Since I look at my e-mail frequently, there is often very little delay in this process. But in Jaeger's case, there is something else going on that we still don't understand. He was receiving none of my replies, even from Verizon, and was getting justifiably impatient and irritated. So last night I took it on myself to use the phone number in his store profile to contact him. I dictated the terribly long download URL over the phone. It worked the first time and he was very grateful for the extra attention. I only discovered his post here this morning, and hopefully he'll come back and confirm that his problem has been solved.I hesitate to call people because I hate getting unsolicited calls myself, but if nothing else is working I will do this, at least for domestic customers. (My wife will murder me if I start calling Europe!) If you want to suggest it yourself and tell me when the most convenient time to call you is, please include that in your mail.Unfortunately, Comcast is not alone in their tactic; the known ISPs that are blocking us are: comcast.net, bellsouth.net, adelphia.net, sbcglobal.net, hotmail.com, and free.fr. There is a note about this in the details page when you order a download, but a lot of eager buyers (bless them) miss this warning. If you have an alternate e-mail address, not on the list, please use that to order. If you are not receiving your download link in a timely manner, the cause is undoubtedly because your ISP is blocking us or an anti-spam program is deleting our auto-mails. If you have an alternate e-mail address, please provide it and we'll give it another try. One way or the other, we will go the extra mile to get your product. The one thing you can be absolutely certain of is that we never, never just ignore mails once we have your money. We always answer them, but sometimes, believe it or not, e-mails do not go through. Blame the real spammers who have made things so difficult for us all by making ISPs more and more paranoid. My personal advice is, never reward them by buying anything from someone who sends you an unsolicited e-mail.I don't blame customers who get irritated when they don't get what they paid for promptly. I'm the same way myself. But dealing with the vagaries of e-business has made me realize it's not always the fault of an uncaring seller with a poor sense of customer relations. September 4, 200817 yr I couldn't have been happier to receive Bill Rambow's call! He went the extra mile to help me and I appreciate it enormously! The product was received and installed on my pc without a hitch! It was worth every penny invested! Absolutely beautiful aircraft! My sincere apologies to Bill for the frustration level he experienced at his end. I had no idea that Comcast was blocking his emails to me. I'll be taking that issue up with them immediately! Thanks again Bill for the great support!Bruce
