March 19, 200422 yr Unfortunately the motherboard on my athlon 2100+ burned out.The good news is I got a fairly top of the line system for an extremely good price. (p4 3.2 hyperthreading, geforce fx 5600 with 256, 1 gig memory, windows prof, etc.).Man-this sim rocks now-the flight models feel amazingly better-leading me to postulate that perhaps one can't judge them fairly on a lower system-amazing the difference, the gauges move smoother, and 30-40 fps or higher is the norm. It is obvious that power = everything with this sim.I also experienced my first ctd ever tonight flying at Sion and also believe I saw the "autogen bug"-something I had never seen before with a slower system! Interesting...Power has its privilege and problems I guess-but I'll take the good (power) over the bad any day-a totally new sim to enjoy.I had been planning to make it till fs2006 on the middle range system-but now I am very glad that my mid range system cooked!http://mywebpages.comcast.net/geofa/pages/rxp-pilot.jpg Geofa WANTED DEAD OR ALIVE-the best Flight Sim!
March 19, 200422 yr I hear ya, I spend so much time on my 1 gig design rig, I get used to the way it looks compared to my gaming one, that when I do a serious flight I am always amazed at the difference and how great it looks compared to the lower end rig.Still haven't seen the autogen bug yet, maybe I need more ram, you think 1 gig's not enough ;-)Congrats on the new system!Regards, MichaelKDFWhttp://www.calvirair.com/mcpics/PBTMCa.jpgCalVirAir International VACougar Mountain Helicopters & Aviation[link:www.cgrmthelos.com]Cougar Mountain Helicopters Best, Michael KDFW
March 19, 200422 yr Geofa,I hear ya man!!! I FINALLY after many delays built my own rig last week. P4 3.2GhzHT, 512MB PC3200 DDR400, MSI FX5950, 2 x 80gb drives, and the AWESOME ASUS P4C800-E Deluxe Mobo, holy cow that thing is freakin amazing.I was VERY hesitant to demolish my original install of FS2004, but broke down and did it anyway. O M G, what a pleasure it is to fly now, I really get the feal of flight when I pan the cockpit, it's smooth as silk. I feel like it's the first time flying FS2004 again, it's a totally new experience!!!I know your gonna love it!!!
