Does anyone use a GeForce 6800/6800 Ultra?

Featured Replies

Sorry to post in this outside the hardware forum, but I was just wondering, as a general question, does anyone use either of these cards with Flight Sim 9?I'm having some serious problems with mine, and the traffic in the Hardware forum seems to be pretty minimal...Again, sorry for putting this in general, I just figured more likely eyes would see it.

What size power supply do you have? It seems the 6800 Ultra is very power hungry. I heard you need a 400+ watts power supply for it!! If it doesn't get enough power it can cause CTD's and lockups!!

Thanks

No, that's not the problem...I'm just using a 6800, and my power supply is fine. The problem is that I'm getting Z Buffer errors on polygons (when you see a bunch of polys stretching to infinity). Also, no alpha channel textures display properly (black boxes around trees, runway lights, etc).I've tried about 5 iterations of the beta drivers, and a reinstall, and setting no AA or AS filtering, as well as different bit depths and resolutions... nothing helps. Also, this card and it's drivers work PERFECTLY with the 30+ other recent games I have installed on this system.

flyinj23... you keep asking for help, but giving little relevant info. Your's is a multitexturing problem, so the final question is "why".First and foremost, have you tried the drivers that came with the card? If not, you should just to see if this is a beta driver problem. What tweaker are you using to configure the drivers? Also, please post a screenshot of your in sim Hardware page (SettingsDisplayHardware). Thanks,Greg

Ah saw your thread in the hardware thread will post there instead.
