July 28, 200421 yr Hi. I have an amd 2.6 pc with a fx 5200. Not a good vidcard, eh? Fs9 runs fine (smooth) until 3d clouds come in, even the smallest enhanced cloud bmp's cripple my sys. Will the latest vidcard models make the difference or does the amd chip also cause the dip? How do you rate the Ati radeon 9800 se 128 ddr? (not too expensive) will it do the job?Paul
July 28, 200421 yr I would not buy any SE card. (SE = sux0r extremus)I have the ATI Radeon 9800 Pro. You pay more, but it is well worth it.
July 28, 200421 yr I dunno, maybe it's not your card - I'm running an old PIII 1.2 with a Diamond Viper 770 Ultra 32.... I can run with the enhanced clouds at their lowest setting and it's pretty nice.Andrew H e l p k e e p A V S I M f l y i n g
July 28, 200421 yr I agree, no SE card!!! I had a G4 4600 in my rig and the weather was the same as yours, almost a slide show at times. Just got a Radeon 9800 pro and now all is good with the world! I think it has to do with the way ATI handles the weather as opposed to nVidia.Regards, MichaelKDFWhttp://www.calvirair.com/mcpics/PBTMCa.jpgCalVirAir International VACalVirAir International Best, Michael KDFW
