October 16, 200421 yr I was going to, but then I noticed that SP2 is "recommended".I made the mistake of installing SP2 on my work system, and its not a mistake I will make on my FS PC.Would be interested to know if any non-SP2 users have used them.Dan.
October 17, 200421 yr I DO NOT have SP2 (I wouldn't touch it with a ten foot pole, for reasons already discovered by Dan on his work PC ), and installed the 4.10's on friday. Havn't noticed anything negative up until now. On the positive side: No fps gain (but no loss either),the texture load time is much shorter, and the image quality seems to be a bit better. Nothing I can put my finger on, just looks nicer somehow. For anyone wanting to try them, I'd recommend giving them a go. Can't imagine why they say that SP2 is "recommended", on my system the install ran just like any other driver install up to now, no probs.BestGrahame (EDHL)
October 17, 200421 yr The 8.07 Betas that ATI released a couple weeks ago are newer drivers than the 4.10's. The 4.10's lack the 256MB fix incorporated in the 8.07 Betas, and the latter has better AI implementation. The equivalent Omegas for the 8.07 Betas are the 2.5.90's. They didn't make any measureable difference on my rig and his control panel lacks the ability to set Quality or Forced levels of AF.About the "SP2 recommended"... this has to do with the use of ATI's CCC tweaker, not the video card registry settings themselves.Hope this helps,Greg
October 17, 200421 yr Well they seem to be made for IL 2 FB. Many users have reported way improved performance AND increased image quality (how often do that happen?) so if you fly IL 2 FB I would definiatly check them outhttp://forums.ubi.com/eve/ubb.x?a=tpc&s=40...83&m=9831068032
October 18, 200421 yr They are utter crap on my system I have to say. Am seeing lots of texture corruptions and benchmarks went down couple of 100 points.Sticking with Omega 8.07 betas until the 4.11s or something better :)
October 18, 200421 yr Noticed little to no difference as usual, which is to be expected with a properly set up system. "Catalyst AI" is nice - noticed no difference at all in any games but gained some 3DMarks :-lol -
