Hi,My computer SPECS:P4 1.7G256 RDRAMFX5200 128MBI m running FS2004 with th following settings:terrain mesh complexity : 0water quality: lowland & water details:noneautogen density: normalno antiailising every thing else maxedand using MYTRAFFIC 2004, ACTIVESKY .I normaly get from 30 to 35fps at normal conditions drops to 20 with clouds ahead and from 10 to 15 in highly detailed airports .for an example : while landing at FLYTAMPA DUBAI INTL. i get bet. 17 and 20fpsI m looking to upgrade my MOTHERBOARD, PROCESSOR AND RAMS to:P4 3 OR 3.2G512 DDR RAMSMOTHERBOARD dont know yetWill i get a good performance in highly detailed airports without any stutters ?????????????i consider fps below 25FPS is awefuli can see others with very high sys specs reporting FPS like the one i get know or maybe lower can anyone explain that?????THANKS

Yes we run higher autogen and mesh complexity which both have a huge impact on performance. Also depends on what amount of antialiasing you run and how you have set up your 5200 and other things. You won

hi,thanks for the reply ur post gets me some smile on my face does that mean that i can get 25-30fps landing at EGLL or klax with some cloudsand aitraffic or is that a dream..........i dont care for AA though i prefer performance to quality

>i dont care for AA though i prefer performance to quality

Thanks so much for ur replies I think i ll turn to AMD64 3000

>hi,>>thanks for the reply ur post gets me some smile on my face>does that mean that i can get 25-30fps landing at EGLL or klax>with some clouds>and aitraffic or is that a dream..........>>i dont care for AA though i prefer performance to quality>>>well i get 6 to 10fps at EGLL sitting at the gate surroundes by 100s of AI (literally, i stopped counting them once i was into 3 figures) and have everything maxed out and run with max AA and AF, cutting back on the clouds and traffic gives me quite a bit boost so if you leave off AA and AF you should be able to meet your target. Although IMHO if you are going to start turning stuff off and down you would probably be better of going for FS2002, which on would run fully maxed out with real world weather and look better than a castrated FS9.

Hi,6-10fps! that makes fs2004 unplayable.....for me anything under 25fps makes no sense of real flight.although your setting r too high so 6-10fps is good.do u get any stutters, i want to fly my plane as smooth as silkwill i get 30fps in the virtual cockpit of PMDG B737NG OR A320PICand move smoothly in the virtual cabin.....etcfor my current sys i get from 10-12fps in the PMDG b737ng virtual cockpit sitting at a default airport with clear weather with lot ofsttuters (unplayable) Anyway thanks for your interest

the EGLL i use is the heathrow Pro version which has loads of dynamic airport vehicles and even people walking along in the walk waysi do not suffer from stutters and the quoted fps is when on the ground, it goes up once airborne, taxying with this frame rate is no problem. I like the eyecandy so keep things cranked up with truck loads of AI and massive cloud formations, things look pretty awsome, or at least as good as they are going to with D3D, if i want games with great graphics and high frame rates i have to use games capable of running Open GL such as those from Ubisoft or Papayrus. D3D was and allways will be a compremise put out by Microsoft as they could not stand someone else making the standard for 3D (remember Glide/3dfx and rendition verite). When I used a voodoo card i used to run FS98 in Glide and it used to run and look far better than it ever did/does in D3D or sofware (windowed) mode.

hi BRUCE,do u have the PMDG b737ng?if yes how much FPS do fet while in VC?for your sys specs ... whats the meaning of XP3000 does it stands for the AMD 3000 and is your videocard 128mb?thanks and im so surprised that the CONCORDE pilots is that few!!!!!!!great quote

Yes i do, this is the 800 series and when this shot was taken the fps was only 3! but then look how bad the weather was/is, the frame rates go up quite alot when not looking forward, and they go up quite alot once out of EGLL with all of its traffic. once in the air there is more than enough control to fly under suspesion bridges in the VC.yes i have an AMD Athlon XP3000+ (not the 64 bit) with 333fsb and the vid card is 128mb 4xAGP (and i think 128 bit)http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/95723.jpg

Hi,35FPS AT SAME CONDITION OMG:-eek How can that be please send your sys specs and FS9 setting (incl. AA AND AF please)how this can be (from 3fps to 35fps) only from XP3000 TO XP3400THATS A BIG Difference Please note that bruce is using MAX AA AND AF....Thanks
