November 11, 200421 yr hi - previously i've been able to fix this problem by deleting fs9.cfg, but this time around i'm getting nowhere fast so i hope someone here can help me.Using fs9.1 with Active Sky 4.5, pmdg 737ng, active camera, pss a340 and ati radeon 9700pro, 1gb ram, 160gb hdd.Problem i've got is that although my desktop resolution is set to 1368x768 i cannot get fs9 to display this resolution in the hardware resolution selection box - the highest resolution it displays there is 1024x768! Like I said i've tried to fix it by removing fs9.cfg and restarting but to no avail. i'm using radeon driver version 6.14.10.6483 which is the latest one as far as i know and directx 9c or whatever the latest one of those is - there are no conflicts showing in device manager so i'm lost. i know that some games won't display at "widescreen" resolutions but having had fs9 at 1368x768 before then i know that this one will. Please help gang!CheersRick
November 15, 200421 yr Have you tried editing your FS9.cfg file and changing the video resolution in the Display.device section? It may just do the trick! Bert
November 15, 200421 yr Yes mate tried that but as soon as I go back into fs9 and check the hardware display settings it is not appearing as an option and all I see are the same resolution settings. Thanks anywayRick
November 15, 200421 yr OK... it was just a guess, and I would not expect the settings to show up in the menu, that would have to come from the display adapter definition in XP..But what resolution is FS9 displaying at after you edit the FS9.cfg? And when you shut down FS9, does it reset these numbers in the FS9.cfg? Bert
November 16, 200421 yr Hi - fs9 still only displays a maximum resolution of 1024x768 even after editing the config file and you guessed it right when I go back into the config afterwards it displays 1024x768 as the resolution.Rick
November 16, 200421 yr Rick,I am afraid that won't help but this is just to assure you that FS9 usually shows any resolution that is provided by the display driver. I even implemented some odd resolutions like 1536x960 with Powerstrip and they are displayed in FS as well.Did you try to simply reinstall the driver. I guess XP has some kind of lookup table for the available resolution FS uses and maybe for some reason it wasn't updated. This is just a wild guess but...Alexhttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/97648.jpg
