November 26, 200421 yr There's a new benchmark about FS2004 from THG.Most interesting is the performace of the Dual NV6800 Ultra (SLI) vs. a lame ATI X800 XT PE.The SLI setup simply rockz in FS2004 when it comes to burn your cash without any benefit !http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/98921.jpghttp://www.de.tomshardware.com/graphic/200...ormance-22.htmlPersonally, I hoped SLI would extremely accelerate FS2004 but the problem is clear:Nvidia SLI is not able to use the 2nd graphics card with FS2004.Only 1 graphics card is used by Nvidia SLI if you run FS2004.So bye-bye Nvidia SLI. This problem cannot be fixed. The only chance remaining is the Alienware "SLI" as they have a different technology to make "SLI" with a dedicated PCI card.Somebody know if the Alienware system was already benchmarked with FS2004 ?
November 26, 200421 yr This had been posted twice already yesterday and the day before. Can we consider that settled or is it necessary to rub more salt into my wound?Alex
November 26, 200421 yr I feel bad. This would have been the opportunity to settle the graphics card thing for FS2K4 once and for all.Alex
November 26, 200421 yr Sorry Alex, I dont understand why the first post does not settle it. When I bought the X800 I did read somewhere that the ATI was better on DX9 games and the 6800 Ultra on open GL games. Maybe Ive lost the plot somewhere.... Regards Howard H D Isaacs
November 26, 200421 yr Howard, this is a misunderstanding. What I was saying is that the SLI technology would have settled the matter for all times in a sense that then we would have definitely all graphics rendering power to handle FS9 in almost any scenario given we are not CPU limited.I was very disappointed when I found out that SLI wil do nothing fr FS. That's all. Sorry if I did not get that clear. English is not my native language.Alex
November 26, 200421 yr Lol yeah though it all depends on what settings you run at though. Would be cool if they would start to benchmark not using default FS 2004 aircraft/scenery but demanding add ons with real virtual cockpits. I guess the ATR 72 would be a good candidate for some real stress testing of FS 2004. Together with some hiqh quality meshes and everything. Without traffic AI perhaps since that makes for to much of a CPU hit.I really wish I wouldn
