CH pro pedal problem

Featured Replies

I just received a pair of CH pro pedals for Christmas and using them with a Sidewinder joystick. Installed okay and working fine..but when I reboot or restart W98se...they're gone (Windows doesnt see them--though it still sees the joystick). I have to unplug both, and then first plug in the pedals..wait for Windows to see it, and then plug back in the joystick.Any ideas??thanks, Randy AdamsTaiwanPS Directx 9.0,

I had a similar problem back in Windows 98SE as well. What fixed it for me was the location I had USB devices plugged in. Try moving you're USB devices around, plug your joystick into say the motherboard USB, and you're pedals on a different USB card.I suspect it was a timing issue when initializing the USB devices under Win98.Good Luck

thanks RJ, actually that did matter...in one position, Windows doesnt even see the pedals. But alas, the problem still exists, when Windows restarts, the pedals disappear. ...am in contact with Tech support now and hoping they can help.thanks for your help, Randy A>I had a similar problem back in Windows 98SE as well. >>What fixed it for me was the location I had USB devices>plugged in. Hi Randy,I too have the occasional time when the pedals are not seen and I use Windows XP Pro, SP2. Problem started BEFORE SP2, though. I will try to move the pedals to a completely separate USB port. I don't have a joystick like you, though. I have the CH Yoke 20-buttons USB so the problem is not isolated to having the pedals with a joystick.Let us know what CH tech support tells you. It may of help for others in this forum who may be be also having these issues.John

John, seems that CH tech has abandoned me...I'll keep trying and will post here if they ever respond....Glad to know I'm not alone with my problems!Randy>Hi Randy,>I too have the occasional time when the pedals are not seen>and I use Windows XP Pro, SP2. John (and interested others)I was able to resolve my CH pedal problem on my own (CH tech still does not respond to my pleas for help!)..found the solution here:http://support.microsoft.com/kb/240075/EN-US/seems with W98, AMD proc and a VIA USB controller, timing is a problem. I downloaded the fix and the problem is solved.Sounds like you may have a similar "timing' prob, but dont think this "fix" will help with XP.
