Any noticable improvement over the previous version Greg, especially for earlier cards such as the 9800Pro?

Haven't seen alot in this sim. LOMAC and Pacific Fighters are both a tad faster, but IQ isn't as good as with the Omega 2.5.76's.Cheers,Greg

Thanks Greg. If there is no noticable improvement on your card I don't expect much on mine so will stick with the drivers I have.

Hi Greg,"...but IQ isn't as good as with the Omega 2.5.76's."....surprised to hear you say that. My impression has been somewhat different. Don't get me wrong, I liked the 2.5.76's but I find I now prefer the 2.5.79's.FS9 = FSAA 6x, AF 16x Forced (using RadLinker), otherwise Omega's defaults in the 3D CP except Vsync which I change to Default On.HL2 = FSAA 2x (in game setting), the rest are Omega's defaults + Vsync = Default On as with FS9.I've downloaded the 2.5.79a's, but can't make up my mind whether to install or not as the 2.5.79's seem perfectly fine. Cheers!MikeP4 2.4GHz (400FSB), 1Gig PC2100 DDR Crucial, ATI Radeon 9800 Pro 128MB (Omega 2.5.97), SB Audigy (5.12.0001.0443), Hyundai ImageQuest Q17 17" TFT LCD 20ms Monitor (1280x1024x32), Gigabyte GA-8IRXP MoBo, Ultra-Quiet PSU 400W, WinXP Home (SP2), DirectX 9.0c, AGP Aperture = 128MB

Hi Mike,"...I liked the 2.5.76's but I find I now prefer the 2.5.79's."I liked the 79's too. But the IQ of the 76's was a tad better for me. Having said that, I have the 79a's humming along nicely and won't bother to go back. They work fine for me in everything I play."I've downloaded the 2.5.79a's, but can't make up my mind whether to install or not as the 2.5.79's seem perfectly fine."As far as I can tell the 79a's are not much different than the 79's... main difference is the WHQL certs. But the ATI drivers are so easy to swap out that it might be worth your time. And on a completely unrelated note for those who believe Omega's drivers shouldn't be used because they aren't "official" ATI drivers I offer this: http://forums.onlinegamers.org.uk/showthre...10294#post10294 The man surely knows what he's doing.Regards,Greg

GregThanks for heads up on this. A few months back I purchased a 9800Pro and am generally pleased with it. At the time I downloaded the Omega 2.5.58 driver and was disappointed to find that when using the FSDS2.24 program for creating aircraft, that I was getting a real display lag when moving parts on the program, so I went back to the ATI drivers.Have downloaded and installed Omega 2.5.97a and they are working really well for me - no lag on the FSDS program, so I am off to click on the Omegas add links.CheersMike
