January 15, 200521 yr Hi allCan anyone tell me if the Gigabyte GA-K8NS Ultra 939 motherboard supports the AMD Winchester 90nm processors. I quite fancy getting this board together with an Athlon 64 3200 processor.Failing that I am also considering the Asus A8V board but I quite fancy sticking with the nVidia chipsets. Any comments would be welcome.ThanksPhil
January 15, 200521 yr I believe this is the very board my computer supplier obtained for me on the 6th Sep. Still waiting for the AMD64 3500 Winchester and X800xt PE to go with it. Are these things real, or just a myth ??. He tells me it is a very good board. As a matter of interest, I had a hot water pipe burst in the bathroom last Sun. My computer room is directly below. Red hot water poured through the ceiling for over half an hour. Monitor,tower,X36,surround sound, sockets and cables galore, all totally drenched and steamed. After two days, I switched on and everything works fine. Would'nt have thought it possible.Russell.
January 16, 200521 yr I have this very board, and with the 3200+. Love it. I would be running a 3500+, but in no way shape or form was i in that position to spend more money... Ok, just saw that you have the 939 pin. Hell, aim for the 3800+ if you can. Highest you can go with the 754 to my knowledge is the 3700+. ??? correct? Chase Barnett

January 17, 200521 yr Par, it was switched off. Unusually, I had decided to watch a film on tv during that fatefull hour. Chase, in a moment of sheer frustration, I told the computer guy to go for the 3800+. He could'nt get that either. later, I was glad he could'nt. At almost double the price for a small increase in performance just did'nt make economic sense to me.Russell.
