February 12, 200521 yr I have given up on this product following hours and hours of complicated calibration between FSUIPC and the CH Manager. There must be an easier way. Until then, I've returned it to the box.
February 12, 200521 yr Hi,Having used this product since it first came out I have never calibrated mine. You do have to install the CH manager so Windows game controllers recoginzes all the buttons. I then used Fsuipc to fine tune the axis and to assign the buttons.Ed
February 12, 200521 yr Thanks, I installed the CH manager plus having the registered FSUIPC. I don't understand why it is such a hassle plus the lack of step-by-step simple instructions. There is detailed informatiion, but nothing simplified for my pea-brain that I've ever seen. I don't like giving up on it; just don't have the patience anymore.
February 13, 200521 yr Hi Les,Exactly what problem are you having? Calibration in the Control Manager is pretty straightforward, just follow the prompts. It can be a little confusing getting reverse thrust, etc. to work. I wrote an article about using it with and without FSUIPC, you can pick it up on the "Files" page on my website. On the main page, click the "Files" button up below the banner, then look for CHNOTE02.ZIP. It's got a WordPad .DOC file in it with the information. If it really doesn't seem to want to calibrate right, check this. First make sure that you don't have a Control Manager map running. It should show you "CH Throttle Quadrant USB" when you look for it either via the Control Manager "Test/Calibrate" button. If it says "Control Manager Device x" then you've got a map running. You need to run the Control Manager GUI and click the "Direct Mode" button. If the name is all in upper case then the Control Manager isn't seeing the throttle yet. Anyway, assuming that's all lined up okay, you should get to the CH Calibration Applet. Over on the right side, there's a box labeled "Raw Data". What values do you see there for the fully back, detent, and fully forward positions?BTW, you might check in over at the CH Hangar:http://www.ch-hangar.comThere are lots of folks over there that are glad to help out if you have trouble with the CH stuff.Best regards,- BobThe StickWorkshttp://www.stickworks.com
