March 3, 200521 yr I need some help with my CH Products USB Yoke. I am using the CH control manager. My problem is when I turn the yoke to the right I get a lot of jittering in the 3D yoke and also in the ailerons when I go into spot view. I have recalebrated many times but to no avail. I have upgraded from CH Manager 3.0 to 3.6 still no help. If I move the yoke to the left all is smooth. Does any one have any idea what the problem might be? Any suggestions would be appreciated. I have been in touch with CH Tech. support but they have not been abel to help. Thanks Chuck:-(
March 3, 200521 yr Hi Chuck,I'd guess someone has had a problem before, but honestly I've never heard of that. My best guess would be that you've got noisy power on the USB port. Going full right takes the pot to the +5 volt rail and any noise there is likely to show up on the input. Check and make sure that the connections to the ports, hubs, etc. are all clean and tight. You might also try it directly into a motherboard port if you're running on a hub.My next best guess would be a bad connection inside the yoke and that the force in getting it fully to the right is causing that to work create problems. I don't know what you should do if that's the case. If you open the yoke you'll void the warranty. Maybe talk to CH support and see what they have to say about it.Best regards,- BobThe StickWorkshttp://www.stickworks.com
March 4, 200521 yr Bob,I have talked to CH support but after checking some settings their suggestion was to mail the yoke in, which I would rather not do.( I would probably be without a yoke for 3 weeks or more) When I turn the yoke full right the ailerons go full right and are very steady. It is from about mid right up to just short of full right it acts up. As far as opening the case I already have and thought I found the problem when I saw the connectors on the pot were rather loose. I crimped these connectors a little which made them very snug on the pot, but this did not cure anything. Is it possible it could be the pot??? (yoke is about a year and a half old but has had light use. I have checked the USB connections and everything seems fine. Have also tried using a different USB connection. No help. If it is noise on the line is their any way to check this. I am not using a hub I am connected direct to the motherboard. It is a ABIT IC7-G with an intel chipset.Any help you could offer would be greatly appreciated.Chuck;(

March 8, 200521 yr Bob, Thanks for your reply. When I go to the raw data and hold the yoke around the 218 reading it will bounce between 218 and about 221. Below that number it does some bouncing but above 221 it becomes very stable. To the left it is very stable no matter where I hold it.I went ahead and ordered a new pot. Well worth the investment to see if it cures the problem. Thanks Chuck
