MEMORY, CPU or Video Card Intensive

Featured Replies

I searched this forum for answers and could not find anything. I was wondering if FS2004 is Memory, CPU, or Video card intenstive?I am building a new SLI Dual Video card rig.

"I was wondering if FS2004 is Memory, CPU, or Video card intenstive"All of the above. You may wish to take this question to the hardware forum since it sounds like you've asked it in order to help spec out your new system. Keep in mind that FS9 was coded before much of the newest technology was available, so having the most current rig on the block may not gain you much vs. having the highest quality hardware. If you're building something with the next MSFS in mind, you may wish to wait a few months until you know what new hardware features it may use.-John

When is it rumored that Microsoft will release some information on the next Flight sim?

FS9 is mainly CPU intensive. 768 Meg of Memory is sufficient, as is a good quality video card of recent vintage (GF4+, ATI9800+).Heaven (and Microsoft) only know if this changes when FS10 comes out.

I have to agree. FS9 is primarily CPU intensive.Of all of the upgrades I have done in the past, CPU upgrades have given me the best bang for the buck within FS.
