May 19, 200521 yr Author Jaap,Sorry I didn't get back to you to let you know that I had installed Intel acceleration over a year ago. When you get my age you start forgetting things. I do need 16bit, non-ecc ram since existing is 16bit non-ecc. I have Dell 17" 1702FP using in DVI mode. I took your advice and dropped down to 1024-1152 res. Took a quick flight with Citation X out of KATL and was pleasantly surprised with little stutterng using VC and the other views. Will do some more tweaking later. Still on the limb on wheter to go with only 256mb and putting difference in $ toward a new video card. Will give me something to ponder over this weekend.I really appreciate all the time you have spent helping me out as well as others that have chimed in.Have a good trip and weekend,Carl Carl PC AMD Ryzen R7-5700G (8-Core) processor), AMD Radeon RX 6600 Graphics 8GB/ 2TB HD + 500GB SSD, 16GB DDR4 3200MHz RAM, Win11 _____________________________________________________________________________________
May 20, 200521 yr Hi Carl, looks like I got everything wrong! :-) You've installed the IAA and you are using a TFT and not a CRT. If your display can interpolate nicely, lowering the resolution and upping the RAM can be the cheap solution. But AFAIK, many flat panels do not do this nicely. Maybe you're lucky? IMHO, upping resolutions often leads to needing a new FlyTendo too, because all the components need to weighed in an even manner and I guess you're aware the system will function as well as the weakest component. Also, getting more RAM and a new display adapter is almost worth half of a new system... Therefore it really is a hard call. As for the trip, thanks a lot for you good wishes, Carl. I'll need them! Something very sad has happened... Good luck and kind regards Jaap
