2 video cards better than one?

Featured Replies

hi all i currently have a dual monitor set up using my GForce 6600 GT CARD it has provisions for 2 monitors which i currently am using just fine, i have all 2D applications in the second monitor,i also have spare old Tnt card PCI,i am just wondering is it better to use this spare card to get better performance or does the 2 adaptors which come with the GForce 6600GT Card is sufficient?

If anything, the single card dual output (ie what you have setup now) will give slightly better performance due to modernness of your video card. Try the TnT PCI if you wish, but my own experience suggests that FPS will be at best the same, or slightly lower.Keep the TnT PCI if there is the possibility of a third monitor.I also suggest that you turn video hardware acceleration on the secondary (ie. 2D only) display down to the second notch from the left. This minimises uncessary graphics work that the secondary adaptor may try to do and will increase overall smoothness of your FS multimonitor experience.Gary
