July 10, 200520 yr Is anyone running a dual video card setup?I see advertisements that claim over 80% better performance with dual video cards and was wondering if anyone can share their experience about this.A typial ad reads like this:(2) Nvidia Geforce 6800 GT 256MB DDR3 - Powered by XFX.Thanks in advacne for the feedback.
July 10, 200520 yr I know you can do this with soundcards as I have 2 myself, but not with video cards. There is a way of choosing which soundcard will be used before opening an app, and you can use both at the same time on 2 apps. But not with video. I think there exists videocards that take two slots, but we all have only one AGP, and if there were a videocard in a PCI slot, how would Win-XP know which to use>? You would also have to go behind the scenes and switch CRT connection cables.Although I do catch your suggestion of 2 in series perhaps? Never heard of such a thingie and if it existed and worked, I would have heard something I presume...allen
July 10, 200520 yr Author Log onto the Cyberpower Website (.com) and check out the ads for their "Gamer Ulta SLI PRO" - they are selling that series with two video cards.I was just curious if anyone had seen it in action and if their claims of peformance gains are realistic.
July 10, 200520 yr SLI would be a waste of money with FS9. It may work with the next version of the sim but we have no idea at this time. If FS is your primary game you might just as well save your coin.http://graphics.tomshardware.com/graphic/2...ormance-21.htmlHope this helps,Greg
