I ve been having this problem for quite a while and just tried dealing with it, but now its just irritating me. While Im playing FS(or doing anything on the computer) i regularly get this pop up that says "Messenger Service" in the title bar, then it goes on saying:"Message from Security alert on(the date)Stop! windows requires immediate attentionWindows has found critical system errorsTo fix errors please do the following:1. Download Registry Repair from http://www.fixregistry errors.com2. Install registry repair3. Run Registry Repair4. Reboot your computerFailure to act now may lead to data loss and corruption!"Now I dont think this is a legitimate website so I always cancel the popup. As I wrote this a pop up actually came up LOL.Has anyone dealt with this or has any tips on how to correct this annoyance. Turn off Messenger service. Many don't because they think it will stop there messenger chat utility, but it doesn't.There is a little program you can get that will get rid of this easily. It's free and it's called "shootthemessenger.exe". Check out the Gibson Research Co.

Gerry, you can run HijackThis to get rid of the pop-up (Messenger simply is the trigger... to actually get the junk off your system you'll have to go after the pop-up itself).Google HijackThis. It's free and easy to use, just be certain of what you're killing with it (always good to create a System Restore point before nuking something with any spyware removal app.).Hope this helps,Greg

Disable it the proper way, which is how Microsft recommends you do so. You don't need another program to do this.Fix here:http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/s...e/stopspam.mspxRegards,JoeGrab My FREEWARE Voice recognition Profiles here:[a href=http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?CatID=fs2004misc&DLID=58334]Cessna 172 Voice Profile[/a][a href=http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?CatID=fs2004misc&DLID=60740]FSD Avanti Voice Profile[/a].You will need the main FREEWARE Flight Assistant program to use it, get it here:[a href=http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?CatID=genutils&DLID=39661]Flight Assistant 2.2[/a]
