August 20, 200520 yr Hi all,Maybe someone has been plagued with a similar problem and has found what is causing it:Quite simply, when I start up FS9 and load up the default cessna, the joystick won't move the eilerons at all. If I shut down FS and start it up again, the joystick moves them just a small amount (I guess 10% of the full traverse). Now, if I perform the following procedure:1] close the flight and 2] go to "settings" and 3] choose the "assignments" button, and 4] merely select the JOYSTICK AXES tab, 5] click on Pro pedals in the "joystick type" drop-down menu,6] and DO NOTHING7] Click the Seitek X45 in the "joystick type" drop-down menu,9] and DO NOTHING9] Pick OK and then return to select a flightthen the eilerons work perfectly. If I shut down FS and re-start FS (without rebooting) the eilerons either don't work or work only 10% :-madI am commencing a complete fresh re-install of FS on Windows XP SP2 and have installed FS9 and FS9.1 patch. I have installed a licensed copy of FSUIPC and DBS's Walk & Follow. That's all I've done so far. The joystick is a Seitek x45 with the latest drivers installed as well as CH products' USB pedals togetether with their Control manager Version 3.6Otherwise I have fairly high-end hardware which worked fine with FS loaded with addon's before.I suspect a joystick/pedals assignment conflict, but I can't find any conflict. Can anyone help PLEASE - BEFORE I GO NUTS !Greetings
August 20, 200520 yr Hi Dave,Run through ALL of the controllers that FS shows you one at a time and make sure that the only one with an aileron assignment is the Saitek. FS will make default elevator, aileron, rudder, and throttle assignments to any devices it sees, including the CH Control Manager Devices, etc. Then it responds to whichever one moved last. If a secondary device is sitting at center, for example, but bobbling by one count like 127-128-127-127.... it will keep pulling that axis back to center and you'll see the type of action you're describing.Anyway, it's not a sure thing but it's the most likely. Give it a try and see what you find.Best regards,- BobThe StickWorkshttp://www.stickworks.com
