October 25, 200520 yr I might be just a lucky guy, but I have the ASUS A7N8XE-DELUXE running at 210 - 215 MHz FSB, depending on the application. FS9 runs completely stable at 215 MHz, however with conservative timings.A new graphics card will not solve the low fps at airports. You will see more fps in the air, but then again if you are satisfied with the fps in the air what is the point.Alex
October 29, 200520 yr Author Hello Alex,I do have an improvement of about 60% in framerates even in custom airports on the ground but not always. The "panning" is smoother when I pan around from the SPOT view so overall, there is some noticeable improvement. Plus, I now have 1280x1024 resolution without any hit on framerates so my panels are much clearer to read and not straining on the eyes.Your motherboard - can you let me know the hardware REVISION of the board? October 30, 200520 yr John,I have been trying to work this out too. The info panel(upper right) on the ASUS installer says that my MB is Rev. 2.xx The Nvidia System Utility says that the MB is Ver. 1.1Does this mean the MB is ver. 1.1 Rev. 2.xx ?????? It came with Bios Ver.1013 if that's any indication of it's vintage.I mentioned in an earlier post above that I had gone back to running at 195MHZ x 2 for cpu and memory. No problems with anything since.RegardsAndy
November 2, 200520 yr Me again. I got the Bios wrong, it was 1012. Have downloaded and installed the update, 1013 tonight via Asus Update. It has a fix for the overclocking message among the changes. I have it running at the default settings 200mhz x 2, optimal, and all that stuff and the Nvidia system utility reports it at 398.5. Will see how things progress.Andy
November 3, 200520 yr >>> Sadly, AGP is on the way out.no joke... And what i dont get is with the higher demand for a PCI-e card, why are AGP cards still higher in price?I could get a X850XTPE pci-e cheaper than i can in AGP.... kind of aggrivating....What would you suggest for me upgrading to the X850? When you gave me advice last year, i stated that i would upgrade the card in about 12 months... And its been 11, so now im looking... Should i wait for 06' to roll up? I should have waited to build this one, as i would of saved about 4 or 500$ or, saved my money for a few weeks, a built something along the lines of a A64 3500+ with quicker, newer components...Any advice? :-waveBTW, HI JAAP! How have you been buddy? Havent talked to you in a long while, probably since i posted my results on this new system, back in december...Been a while since we have talked, hope all is well.. Maybe we can get a online flight one evening if you would be up for it... :) Chase Barnett

I even got 300 additional points in 3dMark03 for a total of 12100, ran 3dmark03 three times just to make sure, and no lockups/CTD's at all. :)Carlos :-hahXP HOME (SP2)ASUS A7N8X-E DELUXEATHLON XP 3200+ (215mhz FSB) Air cooledCORSAIR VALUE 1 GIG DUAL CHANNEL RAM (215mhz FSB)ATI X850XT 250MB O/C @ 540/570SAMSUNG SYNCMASTER 930B 19" LCD eDIMENSIONAL AUDIO FX HEADSETAUDIGY 2 ZS / ALTEC LANSING SPEAKERS
November 5, 200520 yr You guys have all the luck. I got through post but windows wouldn't start at 215. At 205 I got through Aquamark3 but froze on exit. I've been using it as the stressor and get 28fps at all settings above 195 where I started testing. I have no problems running at 198 delivering FSB of 396MHz.Andy
