November 1, 200520 yr Hi Chase,I upgraded from a 9800 Pro to the X850XTPE a few months ago. I have not had any problems. The frame rates went from about 18 to 24 in the test senario I used which was the Dreamfleet 310 at KSEA during the takeoff roll. I was using UT set at 100% with scattered clouds via ASV.I suspect you will see a little greater gain from the 9600 card. One of the features that influenced me with the X850 series was the exhaust fan. I like the extra help in keeping temps down. I bought mine from newegg.
