November 14, 200520 yr When using MSFS9, the game crashes after about 1 hour. No matter what im doing it crashes. I have gone to microsoft website to find help, did what they told me but still crashes. I have reinstalled msfs9 at least 3 times already and have updated ALL drivers. Its getting frustrating! But it always crashes about an hour after starting. Also... the whole game slows down super slow the computer. Usually i have to hard restart.
November 14, 200520 yr Doesn't sound like a problem with the game, more like its your computer. Have you got a default FS2004 installation or have you installed aftermarket scenery?Allcott
November 14, 200520 yr well not scenery but... i have installed squawkbox3 and a few PMDG planes. BUT!!! I tried the clean install.. still same. Does anyone need directx config?
November 14, 200520 yr HiIf you get a chance could you post your computer spec cpu/ram/vidiocard etc.which OS are you using? What version of directX are you using?Does it crash in a different area all the time when flying, or more around bigger cities?Good luckbrent
November 14, 200520 yr Ok i dont know if you ppl want super spiffy 00X00513 stuff but heres english:Video: NVIDIA GeForce FX 5500 w/ 256 MB VRAM V. 6.14.0010.7184Audio: NVIDIA® nForce Audio V. 6.14.0362.0000Microsoft Windows XP Pro 5.1 Build 2600HP Pavillion 061AMD Athlon XP 2600+, ~2.1GHz704MB RAMDirectX 9.0cAlso off topic...I have 2 video cards right now. I had to disable the internal (the one the comp. came with)to let my new one stated above to work. Is there any way to use them BOTH at the same time. No need to answer, but in case someone can sve me a few questions on NVIDIA site...
November 14, 200520 yr HiWell it sounds like you have more than enough to run it(more than me anyway:)I use a freeware program called Flightsim Manager 2.8.5.It allows me to check my aircraft/panels/scenery/textures/sound etc. This program has a lots of features. The one I use everytime before I fly is the Free system ram.I just had a gremlin in my system which was causing the computer to crash the window when I first went to TO,I could hear the aircraft, but couldn`t see it in the window (Blacked Out). Had me pulling my hair out.I did a fresh install and it still did the same thing.I took the FS9 cfg out and let FS9 build a new one and all is well(for now).Did you see any errors Like.. ModName window dll or panels dll?Good luckBrent
November 14, 200520 yr I might suggest that you check your system's temperature while running the game or any CPU intensive software. Heat can certainly do this sort of thing.Motherboard Monitor ( available here: http://mbm.livewiredev.com/ ) is a good way to check and monitor temperatures. Barring that you could take off the sides of the case and have a fan blow more air into the case and see if the CTD occurs in that scenario.Hope that's of some use,Ed GreenKCLThttp://www.panelshop.com/DEV.jpg
November 14, 200520 yr Hi:you will find it here. http://www.ranainside.com/Have you run dxdiag.....start/run/ type in dxdiag press OKGood luckBrent
