What did I do???

Featured Replies

OK, I have been having all kinds of problems recently with FS frame rates and visuals very poor compared to what I have been used to. I had thought I had done most of the standard tweaks to speed up the system but things were just not getting any better. Today, I decided to re-read the Windows XP tune up and did another 2 defrags and also decided to view any hidden hardware installations per the instructions in this thread titled " how many monitors do you have". I had about 20 more than I should have. I also deleted all kinds of other items that were grayed out....sorry but I read the warning after I did this but the system seem OK.So now anyway the results...I fire up FS9, LDS767 at PHNL with addon scenery and Wow. 24 frames/sec in 2D and 22 in VC. Thats at least 8 above my normal in 2D and probably 14 or more in VC. The scenery is crisp and clean, no blurries and the sim is smooth. VC gauges are smooth. Can all of this happen just from removing these hidden hardware items???I'm not complaining but seems like a miracle to me.Mark.
