February 15, 200620 yr Doug has some good recommendations for testing your hardware, I'm going to remember them if mine starts acting up.I've got one more idea...Paul, two of your statements are a red flag to me.1) It only happens when I use FS.2) The only thing I did recently was reinstall FS.I'm no expert on the bugs in these boxes, but just based on the historical events you might want to uninstall FS, reboot, run a windows disk check on your hardrive, reboot, and then install FS again. Plus you could watch the Winter Olympics with your sweetie, do this during the commercial breaks, and collect some bonus points. :-) Sounds like you got enough ideas to keep you busy for a few nights, hope it doesn't take that long though.Ted [email protected] ghz, Noctua C12P CPU air cooler, Asus Z77, 2 x 4gb DDR3 Corsair 2200 mhz cl 9, EVGA 1080ti, Sony 55" 900E TV 3840 x 2160, Windows 7-64, FSX, P3dv3, P3dv4
February 15, 200620 yr Doug's proposal to connect a 'known to be good' PSU and see whether it still happens would be my next step too. As far as I would dare to judge, your RAM should be ok because it rarely causes this kind of abrupt/full shutdowns. IMHO, it's best to not use the computer too much because 'whatever-is-causing-this' could take the whole system south and destroy many other components. As long as your FlyTendo still functions and only crashes when running FS, you have very good chances it's a single defective component. Good luck and kind regards Jaap
