February 19, 200620 yr Hello all,I really need some help here. I recently upgraded to the Nvidia 6600gt from using the old ancient Nvidia 5900FXWell now my flight sim just looks flat out worse than with the 5900FX. Specifically in terms of the MIP and "flickering" of the mesh issues. I set the MIP Maps to 4 like suggested everywhere..but its still as if its on 6. The flickering really ruins it for me..when i set the MIP Map to 3 its just blurry and still some flickering even then. Ive reformmatted, new drivers..all of that jazz u name it i tried it. I played around with Overclocking the graphics card, and have kept it at default as well..same results. Is there something I'm missing? I've tried putting quality settings of performance and quality..both same results. My system specs are AMD 64 3000+ Newcastle1gb Kingston Ram160gb hard driveMSI 6600GTThanks for your help,Stephen
February 19, 200620 yr Hi I did the exact same upgrade. I had problems to untill I installed the 8.1.9.8 drivers. If you have not tried these give them a try. They are the only drivers so far that I been able to get to work with my 6600gt. keith:-beerchug

February 19, 200620 yr I had similar probelms when I first installed my 6600GT card. Things you could try:1) Disable antialiasing from the FS9 SettingsDisplayHardware menu and let your graphics card handle it.2) Have you tried setting up an NVIDIA profile for FS9?2) Try disabling the texture filtering from the SettingsDisplayHardware menu, go back to the sim, then re-enable it.Good luck hope this helps. February 20, 200620 yr Yes I would agree with the above post. I have the 6600gt and I turned of the hardware settings like AA etc in FS9 and did it through my Nvidia control panel. I took a huge performance hit if I did not do it this way. Also you may want to look that your background tasks are not interfering with the game. Close the aps like chat programs and in some cases antiviruses would help.Paul
