April 19, 200620 yr Hi all...I have another one of those graphics cards questions. I have an AMD 4200+ system with 1 gig kingston ram with a Geforce 6600 card. I want to upgradea my card and am torn between either getting the BFG 6600GT OC or spending another $240 for the BFG 6800GT OC. I am told the plain 6600 card is a real bottleneck for my system. I would really appreciate some advice and opinions on this forum. Your help is greatly appreciated!Patrick
April 19, 200620 yr Running a pair of 6600GT on SLI won't help you with FS since FS9 doesn't take advange of SLI. One thing is for sure, given your config your Vcard is definitely the bottleneck here. It really depends on what your budget is. I have an AMD64 3200+ and I couple that with a 7800GT (in my case it might be too much of a card for my CPU, but I am not sorry about it :) Given your CPU I don't think a 7800GT or even a GTX would be an overkill.Personally I think Gforce 7 series are much better products than 6 series. And of course there is the whole line of ATI products.Jason JasonFAA CPL SEL MEL IR CFI-I MEI AGI

April 22, 200620 yr going to a 6600 gt is not an upgrade. the 6800 is not worth it either. personally after my radeon died (oh the pain) i got the 6600 since it was the only one in the AGP config (i need a replacement asap) and there isn't any difference in FS. FS is processor intensive, not graphics. people still miss that after 20 years for some reason. so anyhow, i overcloked it and i have to say that it's performance equals that of my former radeon (256bit) in all other games. there is no difference in FS (as expected). so if you think that changing your vid card will do much in FS, think again. the 6600 is weak yes but it does just fine in the sim.

He already has a weak 6600 card, and it is awfull in the sim.If you turn on any filtering (a must) it will choke and die.
April 23, 200620 yr mine doesn't.... in stock config you can feel it but when you overclock it it does as good as my former radeon. otherwise the card is weak no doubt. though i haven't seen a difference in FS. that's all i am saying.
