April 21, 200620 yr Hi -I have a flight yoke, pedals, and throttle... I'm considering upgrading to USB hardware.Does anyone still use or need the gameport-style hardware?It's in great condition and I have all the original packaging. Not sure if it's worth keeping or if I should go USB. (Can new computers even use gameport stuff any more?Thx,Andrew H e l p k e e p A V S I M f l y i n g
April 21, 200620 yr You may want to check into a gameport>USB adapter, which I think I have seen around in the past. Given that CH equipment just lasts and lasts, it would be a shame to have to purchase new gear if you can find such an adapter. Granted, there may be some drawbacks from using the adapter if the *full* sensitivity of a USB controller is lacking, but perhaps someone else may have an opinion or experience?Gameport controllers actually suck down (much) more CPU cycles than a USB will, so updating to a USB controller (via adapter OR native) will have a slight benefit to the performance bottom line. Good luck,-Greg
