Dear Friends,I am planning to order a new system.I have chosen the following specifications but i am not sure I made the right choice. I want the best performance available Intel Pentium D 3.0 GHz Intel mainbord 975 chipset 2x 1 GB DDR2 RAM 667 MhzATI X1800 512 MB PCI-E500 WATT Power SupplyWestern Digital 36 GB 10.000 rpm 16 MB SATA HarddiskWindows XPDo you guys think I have chosen the correct components or do you think you know something better? Please let me knowKind RegardsKim

Perhaps it would be better to ask in the hardware forum. Tons of folks there ready to give answers for ya'-John

Kim, best performance you can get will be from the best CPU you can get. If you are looking forward to FSX I'd wait and buy AFTER the DX10 cards come out.Regards, MichaelKDFWhttp://www.calvirair.com/mcpics/tfbeta.jpg

I thought I replied earlier but I don't see my post. Anyway, you will want more than 36 gigs for your FS computer...you can easily get 50 gigs of FS stuff with add-ons, mesh, planes, etc.The 36 gig Raptor is great for your OS drive but you might consider a higher-capacity second drive to hold FS stuff.Rhett
