FS CTD with new computer

Featured Replies

I just got a new computer over the weekend and installed FS9, PMDG 747 (both PAX and CARGO), and AS6. During a recent flight, I first got and error message somewhere near Greenland saying that MSFS encountered a problem and needed to close. I restarted and saved right before I reached Greenland. The same thing happended so I restarted my computer and there was no problems. I picked up right where I left off.As I reached my destination though, there was a sudden Crash to Desktop as I made my final turn to PHNL. There was no indication of any problems. I just suddenly crashed. If it would bo of any help, I was running AS6 and the PMDG 747PAX. the flight was non-stop from EGLL to PHNL. Any help would be very much appreciated.Ryan Gamurothttp://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/supporter.jpg

I had just installed FS and didn't touch any of the AFCADs. Could there already be duplicates?Ryan Gamurot

Hi,I suffered some CTD's when I bought my PC in January. After about 20-30 mins of flying, I got the CTD. After a big hassle, it turned out that updating my video drivers did the trick. With a fresh install of FS9, I doubt that duplicate AFCADs are your problem. BTW there is a utility in the library that will check for duplicates. Also make sure you are patched to FS9.1.You may want to also search the hardware forum for more information.Good luck and let us know when you figure it out!Airbus

There's been an issue with IE 7 Beta too... if you happen to have this, search the forums for this issue.

Well, I updated my video driver but it still crashed twice and this time I was in a Cessna 182 on both occations. At least I now know it isn't the 747. ActiveSky was running at the time though. Is this something I just have to deal with?Ryan Gamurothttp://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/supporter.jpg
