July 13, 200619 yr Hi,Would anyone be able to tell me if the DVI cable can be used at all with the ATI 9800 pro 128mb video card. Bought an adapter for the DVI cable to use on the analog video card, but I can't get it to work, no video at all when I try it. Further is a DVI cable much better than the analog connection???Thanks,Helmut My System: Intel 9700K 4.7Gz, ROG Strix Z390-E Gaming, 32 GB Corsair Vengeance 3200MHZ, Evga 3070TI 8GB, Noctua NH-D15S, Gigabyte 27" Monitor, Windows 10 64bit, 2xSamsung 500GB SSD, 1x Samsung 120GB, 1x Samsung 970, 1TB, 1TB H/D for Storage. July 13, 200619 yr Hi Helmut - I also have an ATI 9800 Pro with 128MB and use the digital output to drive a ViewSonic VA912b using the DVI cable. It works fine. (I also have a ViewSonic VA712b hooked up to the analog output on the 9800.) And, yes, at the native resolution of the digital monitor the digital signal will look crisper and clearer compared to an analog monitor as there is no need for a digital-to-analog conversion of the signal. (Of course, if you have an analog CRT monitor then no digital improvement will be seen.)Doug Intel 10700K @ 5.1Ghz, Asus Hero Maximus motherboard, Noctua NH-U12A cooler, Corsair Vengeance Pro 32GB 3200 MHz RAM, RTX 2060 Super GPU, Cooler Master HAF 932 Tower, Thermaltake 1000W Toughpower PSU, Windows 10 Professional 64-Bit, 100TB of disk storage.
