August 10, 200619 yr I have a Dell 3.06 with a Radeon 9600 256mg AGP video card. I am thinking of buying a Geforce FX5500 AGP with 256mgs. Would this be worth it or am I just wasting my money? Any thoughts would be appretiated. Pat Callaghan Jr. Ryzen 9-9900x Asus Tuf Gaming 870x 64gig DDR5 ram, RTX 4070 Super Win 11 Pro
August 11, 200619 yr I have the FX550AGP card. It works resaonably well but updating the drivers can be a problem. I tried the newest ones and then read that they were 'buggy' and they are. I then tried 8x series drivers and still had bad graphics. Now I am using 4x series that I had to search the web for and the performance is still substandard. When switching to the VC panel is takes a few seconds to load the first time and after that is ok. I am planning to buy a different card and therefore reading the hardware forum to see what cards are best.Hope this helps someRegardsRick
August 11, 200619 yr Author Rick, Thanks for the reply. I think I am just going to stick with my Radeon until I can update my MB to a PCI Express version.Pat Pat Callaghan Jr. Ryzen 9-9900x Asus Tuf Gaming 870x 64gig DDR5 ram, RTX 4070 Super Win 11 Pro
August 11, 200619 yr You might have a hard time upgrading the mobo on a Dell.I don't think they use standard ATX form factor, pretty much requiring you to either send it back to Dell for 'upgrading' ($$$$$$) or buying a new PC!Anyone know if this is still true with Dell?Glenn Glenn Ryzen 3700X, X570 Pro Wifi, 32GB 3600mhz RAM, Nvidia Titan Xp "Galactic Empire", RM750x PSU, H700 case, 2x NVMe M2 SSD, 1x SATA SSD
