ATI advice needed........

Featured Replies

Just got a new Gateway system (510XG). Its a core 2 - 6700, 2 Gb, etc, that came with an ATI 1900XT Crossfire graphics board. As I am still in the process of loading up FS9 and all my addons, I can say that this is a very fast system. Using Flight Enviroment's full impact clouds.....AI at 100%.....auto gen & scenery at max, with AS making overcast conditions @ KLGA; KEWR & KJFK both being add-ons....I have yet to see less than 29fps.What I am looking for though, is a good tutorial for the ATI cards. Up to now, everything I had was nVidia (last being a BFG 6600GToc), so I am very familiar with nVidia's menu and what wash item does. Am a little confused about some of ATI's terminology, trying to relate to nVidias. Can someone point me to a good tutorial, or recommend settings for FS. This computer will only run FS.Thanks!Rickps: yes, I know...Gateway??? Did a little studying though. They are trying to recapture marketshare, but don't really want the mainstream (low-end) computers. For what they are offering, it is a good bargin (IMHO)! I know I could have gotten the same thing cheaper, buying the components. If I can run with everything maxed out (which I have never come close to on a P4-2.53, 1GB), and not have to adjust sliders depending where I'm at or what the weather is like, and never drop below 25fps, it was money well spent!!!!
