  1. From what I remember reading on DA's site, their product won't include the CRJ 200.Rick

    BAV

Virtualpilots.org looked like something I would be interested in. Filled out an application.....it accepted it and told me I would get an email within 60 seconds for the link to the entrance exam. 4 days later I am still waiting. Tried to join again thinking something happened, but it told me that my email was already registered and if there was a problem to contact HUman Relations. Well I did that, and guess what, 2 1/2 days later, I am still waiting. I have checked my spam folder and there is nothing in there either. This does not seem like a good way to build up a VA, by not following up, and/or not responding. I have done all they asked and I cannot even get the courtesy of a reply. They are not making a good first impression on me. I would still be interested though. If any members read this and can help get me a response I would appreciate it.Rick Zarych
  3. Andy,Not sure about their 72, but this is what I found on their 42, which was doing about the same as to what you are complaining about. On the ATR's, the cargo area is in the front of the a/c ( infront of the pax, behind the cocokpit), but in the aircraft cfg the cargo was placed at -40 feet from the c/g, towards the back. I changed the number to be between the crew and the pax, and then the a/c flew wonderfully, even on autopilot.Following is a copy of the email I sent them. They responded by saying they would look into it, but never heard anything since:"Having just flown this a/c a few times, but have flown the F1 ATR72, I, like many, have found this a/c tail heavy and hard to trim, especially when under autopilot control.I noticed something in the aircraft.cfg and would like to ask about it. On this a/c, the cargo is carried upfront, but in the cfg the number is a -40,0,0. This puts it way at the rear of the a/c. As a test, I made it a +25, which puts it somewhere between the front passengers and the crew. The a/c flys real stable now, and you are able to trim it easily. Also now, when the flaps are applied, the a/c doesn't nose up, and only a few clicks of trim are required to drop the nose again.I know the 72-500 has a small rear cargo area, but was the cargo area in the 42-500 meant to be in the front (where it is in r/l), or meant to be in the rear? I hope it was meant to be in the front, as this makes the 42-500 fly sweet.I hope this helps!!Rick
  4. Jim Vile, thanks for the reply. I understand what you are saying, as I have followed all of your in depth information for years now. I have the bgl in the Scenery\Generic folder. If I start FS9 with the default Cessna at KIAD, go to the map and look at the airport facilities that FS thinks it has, there are no frequencies or courses listed for 1C/19C, but all the other information is correct. If I open the AFCAD, and list the Navaids, they are all there, even 1C/19C. I am confused now! Where does FS get the information that it shows on the map and the facilities? Isn't that the information that FS uses when assigning AI in IFR weather? I don't have any other AFCAD for KIAD.If I am seeing a problem with just my setup, from what I'm describing, where should I look for the problem?Rick
  5. Again, thanks "different Jim" for the reply. It actually is one of the old runways that isn't showing up in FS, but it was renamed. Since it is not in the FS database then, am I correct in assuming that ATC will not assign this runway in IFR conditions, or bad weather?Rick
  6. Jim,The AFCAD I got was from their site. What I am seeing is that under the Navaids list, the navaids are there. But if you check the runways, there is no ILS identifier listed for 1C/19C. Further, if you check the FS9 map and pull up the facilities for KIAD, there is no freq's or course for 1C/19C. So ATC will not assign this runway combination in bad weather, since it sees no ILS.If the navaids are showing up in the AFCAD, but FS is not seeing them, is there a file missing, or the approach instructions? Thanks!Rick
  7. Just noticed on a flight into KIAD, that there is no ILS for 1C/19C, which used to be 1L/19R. Was it dropped, or is this an error by Imaginesim?Rick
  8. I guess about a year ago, someone that was affiliated with Metro Air, was starting to work on a Braniff Virtual, that would encompass the various periods of that airline. Does anyone know if that project is still in the works, or has it been cancelled? Thanks!Rick
  9. Having had very few OOM's, I never pursued installing this, but after installing FSDT's KJFK, and using PSS's 757, my first flight into JFK resulted in an OOM on approach. Since I'm using Auto Save, I was able to restart to the last save and complete the flight, even with RC4 and FSACARS. BUt it got me to look into and install the 3GB switch. I have followed the threads all along, so I knew where to go for the install info. I'm no IT person, but do know my wat around a pc. Here is what I'm seeing. With no patch, I will see the HD activity light flash on occasion as scenery loads, with maybe, maybe a micro-stutter at times. With the switch/patch installed, I see very long texture loading times. I have adjusted the Userva= from 2560 to 2880, in increments of 64MB with 2880 being better. System specs are Core 2 - 6700, 2G ram, EVGA 880GT/512. On 2 flights I did, takeoff was ok, but on climb, textures started to slow down loading, even my own a/c textures. HD activity light stayed on solid for minutes, ground textures looked like something from the Commodore 64 days. But frames were a rock-solid 24(locked), sounds were fine, gauges worked ok. At times, the sim would freeze for 30-45 seconds. Once the scenery started going downhill, it would never recover. Checking task manager would show I had over 1.1GB of free ram, commit charge and kernal memory were no where near limits, and cpu usage was less than 50%. I have my page file set to 3072, and have tried it on the boot © partition, and the (E) fltsim partition. The FS9.exe was also edited, as per the instructions.I guess I'm wondering why I am seeing so much disk activity now. It almost appears as if FS is running off the HD now and not using ram. Has anyone else seen this or experienced anything like this? I read & reread the instructions over & over, and I'm sure I didn't miss anything. HD has been defragged. Even deleted page file, then defragged and then added back page file, and have seen no change.Any ideas would be appreciated!Rick
  10. If you have a HD that's partioned into C,D,E,F drives, and FS9 resides on E, then where is the optimum location for the page file.....C or E, where FS resides? Or does it not matter? Thanks!Rick
  11. Is it only in daylight, night? Try starting at another time of day that it is crashing, or another season. If it doesn't crash, then it is probably a bad or missing scenery texture.Rick
  12. I am using some a/c I haven't used in awhile, and have forgotten how to program my CH Throttle Panel, using FSUIPC, to get it to provide full power. I get 100% N1 & N2 but the a/c barely moves. I know this has something to do with how Feelthere tricked FS to have 4 engines for the 700 & 900. I think I have tried all combinations in FSUIPC.Can this be accomplished with FSUIPC, or does it have to be controlled inside FS9?Thanks!Rick
  13. Thanks Steve, but I can choose and select SID's/STAR's from the FMC, and they will insert into the flight plan. What I was asking was about the runway selection and the approach to that runway. If you open and look at the "procs.ftd", you will see the airports listed with the runways, and the different types of approaches (ILS,LOC,RNAV,VOR) for that particular a/p. But in the FMC, it will show the STAR's, Transitions, and the list of runways. I can find no way to have it show the different approaches to the listed runways. I guess I'm surprised because the default GPS can choose approaches, and I thought I read where the Wilco CRJ was based on the default GPS, except for a few things.I have access to both AIRAC's from Terry Yingling, and also from Navigraph. Is one better for the CRJ. In one of Terry's notams, he talks about how he had to insert waypoints every 10 degrees for arcs. So I assumed from that, that the approach paths would be drawn on the MFD.As I said, I haven't used this for awhile, but I thought the approach paths were able to be done! Thanks again!Rick
  14. Having had this since it came out, and not having used it in awhile, I can't remember if this was ever possible. I couldn't find any answers on the old Feelthere forum either.I'm not talking about SID's/STAR's, but approaches. Were you ever able to select on the FMS an approach to a runway (whether it was an ILS, VOR, RNAV, like the default GPS), and have the path show up on the MFD? I have an updated AIRAC from Navigraph, and have SID's/Star's, transitions, and show runways, but no approaches. If this IS possible, then I might have screwed up my data. Thanks!Rick
  15. If I remember correctly, wasn't there a similar thread on this a few weeks ago?RickSearch this forum for KSNA. The title is "Two SOCAL Problems". I think its the eighth reply down from Shez, and he says to delete a certain file.Hope this helps!
  16. For the past 2 days I have been trying to log on to their new forum. I have re-registered, got a confirmation email-with an approval code, clicked on the link to confirm my email address, goes to the log on screen, put in my user name & password, and it still keeps showing me as guest. If I type the wrong password, it gives me an error saying wrong user name or password. So it is smart enough to know I enetered the wrong info. But when I enter the right info, I am still logged in as guest!!Anyone else having a problem?Rick
  17. Northwest Airlink is available at WOI. Or was......just checked don't see it now, but it is in my SceneryWorldscenery folder with a date of 05/19/08. Perhaps they pulled it for some reason.....maybe getting ready to update it?Rick
  18. The WOI Northwest schedule is accurate to the last update. Its just Northwest's schedule. Are you seeing the CRJ's & Saabs at the A & C gates? They make up a good portion of NW's flights into KMEM. On the cargo end, most of the departures for Fedex are evening & night departures. Since NW is the main pax carrier, make sure the A & C gates are coded for NWAX, and it should be as real as it gets!Rick
  19. I have noticed this at KMEM. I too am using WOI's Northwest traffic. You would think that since this was a hub for them, it would be packed. But I have found at certain times of the day, it is as you describe. It's probably in the schedules. The other thing I found with their AFCAD is that the whole A, B, & part of the C concourses for Northwest are setup as NWA. In r/l, the A, and Northwest's gates of the C concourse are for Northwest Airlink, or NWAX. If you don't reassign the A & C gates to NWAX, the Saab 340's & CRJ's will park at other gates. Once I reassigned these gates to NWAX and reduced the radius to match the commuters, all a/c now park in the correct spots. The B gates get NWA's main fleet, and the A & C's get the Airlink (which there are now plenty of.Hope this helps!Rick
  20. Just noticed this about this new release. Not sure if this is supposed to be like this or not, but there are no buildings around any of the 3 cargo parking areas. There is cargo and equipment, but no buildings!Otherwise good-looking scenery!Rick
  21. Does anyone know, or has anyone noticed this? I have had FS9 since it came out noticed this before adding any scenery, etc. When flying within 220-30 miles of Philadelphia, the sim stutters badly for 10-15 seconds, then smooths out. It happens with the default a/p. Is there a piece of MS scenery (eye candy, easter egg, etc) around Philadelphia proper that causes this? If so, it must be one detailed piece. This is just a question that puzzled me for years, and just got around to asking!Rick
  22. A June 11th news release on their website says that after their next South American release, they will be shying away from the smaller regional airports and moving up to the "global" airports. They said that there is not enough interest from the simming public to generate the return for their time & investment, which is probably right. SO what is their next 2 airports.......CYUL & KORD!! CYUL I can see, but KORD. Wasn't KORD released about 2 months ago by FSDreamTeam? What kind of return will they see from KORD? Why would they want to compete with FS DreamTeam? BluePrint fills a "niche" in the scenery world, but their sceneries aren't even close with Zurich & O'Hare!Just doesn't seem like a good business decision to me.Rick
  23. Search the hardware forum, for the way to unlock the power of your new card. You are seeing the full effect of it yet. You have to copy the FS profile, then delete it, or something like this.Rick
  24. >I have the JT8-D sounds for the MD-8x and they are fantastic.>I use them for Leonardo's Maddog and Jetcity/F1 Dc-9 merge.>Very happy with them and thinking of getting more sounds from>TurbineStudios.>>A happy customer, nothing more here... :)>>Regards,>Jure>> If you like those, get the JT8 for the DC9, and you will have the old DC9 sound with your JCA's.Rick
