mini upgrade what do you think?

Featured Replies

hi all as you can see my system below i am running a dell 24 at 1920 x 1200 resolutions and the thing is i heard that the Geforce 6600GT is not an 'adequate' card for such a large monitor so i was thinking of going to a 7800-GS EXTREME AGP 256meg, do you think this will help performance wise?thanks,

Try running at a lower resolution temporarily, with all other settings the same, and see if you get a notable boost in FPS. Then try a complex scenario (eg. EGLL with full traffic and heavy weather) and try AA/AF disabled and at max setting. If you do get a substantial performance difference between these settings, then an upgrade to a 7800 will be beneficial, otherwise your 6600 is doing fine. My bet is that, for FS9 at least, a 7800 will only be marginally better, if at all. Let us know how you go.Gary
